    Peterson asked for $600,000.

Why would Khan fight a guy asking for 6, when he could potentially get one who's asking for 3 or less.

I thought nothing was signed between Berto and Ortiz yet, I thought they were still negotiating and Berto's camp was annoyed about Ortiz wanting a catchweight? Ortiz is probably a better fight in America though.

Ortiz is bigger than Berto. Why the **** would they care about a catchweight?

Slow-handed maidana was able to catch Khan and nearly knock him out, McColskey's hand speed will give Khan a lot of problems, he will find his chin early and often and likely knock him out inside of 5 rounds.
Khan has improved since his 30 second arse kicking at he hands of crude slugger Breidis Prescott, but McCloskey is 50 times the fighter Prescott is and Khan will be his springboard to world championship glory.
I'm a big fan of Khan's but I have to be objective in my analysis.

Don' t ask me. I'm just a fan. I had just read that Berto's camp was annoyed that Ortiz wanted a catchweight and nothing is official between the fighters.

Apparently they're very close in finalising it. Whatever issues they had regarding weights, they appear to have resolved them. The only problem now is their choice of venue, as not many places appear to be available for the April 16th date.

    Prescott?

The guy who's lost 2 of his 4 bouts? :huh

If you read carefully, Khan said he will fight him soon, but doesn't want to fight a guy losing 2 of his last 4. He wants Prescott to get a decent winning streak and at least be in the rankings, and then sure, why not.

So this is the fight that stopped the Wlad-Haye fight from happening? Terrific...

Since he's unknown in America, is McCloskey fairly well-known in England?

Because most santioning bodies have him ranked 10 or better and I personally cant think of 10 better 140 lbers!

Main, just take a minute and think.

This is just a tune-up fight, one to keep him busy until a July date with Bradley. Tune-up fights aren't really required to be high-profiled fights, like a Prescott one will be. Therefore, it'd be much more sensible for them to save that for another date when Khan desperately needs to take it. Because right now, he's on a good roll and the fans and media are fully behind him in the route he's currently pursuing - unify 140, move up tp 147, get a showdown with Mayweather.

But if somewhere along that journey he loses again, he then has a perfect fight to go back to in order to win the fans over again....Prescott!

No, it was more like Sky not wanting 2 PPV's in the same Month.

Also, it was Khan's booked date for a while. I couldn't give a **** if Haye-Wlad was stopped because of Khan's fight.

Haye deserves the back-lash after the bull**** he put up last year. Good on him (as if he wanted the fight anyway).

McCloskey at least has a slim chance of pulling an upset where Peterson had zero chance.
Sure McCloskey isn't tested at this level but we know Peterson cannot hack it at world level.
