hey , i am on the "Battleship" but i feel that i should warn the "crew" of my fears that the galaxy we just entered might not be inhabited.
You see, you only take some facts in consideration and forget the others. For you, the fact that Bute repeatedly said he wouldn't Mendy is not a solid fact. For me, it is. Ward has said many times he would fight Bute. For you, not a fact, for me, it is. Most important, you say at the end of your post that you don't feel the sense of emergency of fighting the elite: that's where you are completely wrong. Bute is mad each time people ask him when he'll face the top. He gets real mad because he wants to. You missed some good interviews if you haven't noticed that. That's exactly why he signed with Showtime. I hope that between Kessler, Johnson, Abraham (I don't believe this one), Pavlik, Dawson (if Pascal faces Hopkins), Hopkins (if Pascal faces Dawson), Dirrell, I hope one of them will face Bute. If not, I'll take a big break of Bute. He's too strong for a fringe top 10. He has to face a top 4. I won't go to his fight against Magee, like I didn't pay for his fight against Brinkley. I take care of my money. I still hope, adn I know that Bute is not in fault in all that.
http://www.mikkelkessler.com/?p=news&id=57 Kessler: " Team Sauerland has already started to work on my comeback plans to get me a big fight once I am ready. " - lets hope you are correct and Showtime is negotiating with Sauerland for Kessler next big fight to be against Bute.
I am so bored to death with this situation, I just hope that, finally, Bute will fight someone with a pulse in 2011.....this looks more and more like Joe C's way of being a champ. It makes me sad that I have the best guy in my backyard but he just won't man-up and face someone who could bring, at least, a challenge in order to get better himself, while waiting for a never-ending S6 reject.:tired
I know. Another 6-7 months before the biggest fight of his career, whether it'd be Kessler, Dirrell, Pavlik or the loser of Froch/Johnson. I'm much more excited about Lemieux-Rubio than I am about Bute-Magee.
And I-Box should understand that quickly because someone in Montreal is fighting big names and people are starting to get bored with Bute adversaries.
Even I am tired to defend Bute. I hope they know what they are doing for this summer. If it's a Mendy type of opponent, I'm out. Bute needs and wants a big name. Give him one.
Jean Bédard and Bute himself were talking about MSG for early 2012... that's 9 to 12 months away from the Magee fight, so I sure hope [Kessler-Bute]-like ideas are gonna flow from Hershman's mouth until then. If they put him in with a Mendy or a Stevens, which doesn't make any sense considering the pool of SMWs Showtime has control over, I'm out too. FFS.
Hopkins and Dawson are in "love" with Pascal; one of them will get his shot at him first and most likely defeat overrated Pascal. The other one must became a target to Showtime; a Dawson-Bute or a Hopkins-Bute at a catchweight 170 or 172 (with Dawson maybe even a title bout @168 ) would be a much better option then any Mendy, Stieglitz, Sartison, Degale, Stevens etc. etc.
Indeed. They would be a very good option. I think Hopkins will have a shot first at Pascal, leaving Dawson free for a while. Will he accept to fight Bute at a catchweight, or will he prefer to face Tavouris Cloud while waiting for his rematch with Pascal? Remember, if HBO refuses to pay fr Dawson-Pascal 2, Jean has not to give him a rematch anymore. Dawson could choose to go for another belt or another big fight instead of waiting for an hypothetical rematch. Of course, if Dirrell is available for a June fight, take Dirrell.
