McCloskey is a better fight than Murray. Both top 15 in the world but at least McCloskey is at the weight.

PM also a bigger puncher and more difficult boxer to beat.

in the end PM's reaction based defence will be his downfall agaisnt a busy a probably thr fastest boxer P4P in the world.

That's how real business works. Is it now :)

Well if you want to continue believing this nonsense then go for it.

People who actually know what they are talking about it do read these forums. It's funny reading people stating things that they 'know' 100% to be factual, and are completely convinced.. when in fact it is utter bull****.

McCloskey is way in over his head against Khan. Khan has no trouble with counter punchers because of his insane had speed. Before Maidana I would have said McCloskey has a small punchers chance but it seems he doesn't even have that glimmer of hope now. He won't win a round.

Why does the Maidana fight change your mind about the punchers chance? He still got hurt when hit clean. if it has been earliar in the fight when MM wasnt ****ed he would have stopped him.....and if Cortez wasn't getting involved like an older brother in a playground fight.

Rob is right on this one, Khan does have a guarantee of at least $1m from GBP.

Maidana punches twice as hard as McCloskey. I'm not saying he can't be knocked out, but I don't think McCloskey has the power to knock him out.

Well mccloskey is in the same boat that peterson was when he challenged bradley.

Murray or prescot might not be any better, they were just my preferences. Murray because they campaigned at the same weight for ages and never got it on. Prescot because I wanna see him avenge his loss

anyone with average power and above can stop Khan.

I agree with you about the way the fight goes but Khan still can't take a big shot the MM fight only went on to prove that. Khan just knows how to react and Maidana was ****ed. If Khan gets hit in the first 6 he can be knocked out.

Well for a start, the figure I assume you are referring to is $1.25million dollars mentioned by Schaeffer.

Nor does it work how you seem to think it happens. It is more an agreement that through Team Khan promotions and GBP, Khan for each fight on the 3 fight deal MUST earn a minimum of $1.25million dollars.. This means that when the opponent is determined, the costs of the event, the profits, all together must ensure that Khan receives that no less than that sum. If it cannot occur.. GBP don't suddenly dip into an imaginary pot of gold and produce the money.. the fight simply doesn't happen. This is why as he's co-promoted, both Team Khan AND GBP are responsible for ensuring this happens.

For instance, for this bout.. Team Khan have an idea of how many buys it will make on SKY (which is going to make up the bulk of the revenue), they have a rough idea of the gate receipts it will take, they know how much HBO is going to pay for a tape delay.. in all these calculations, Team Khan and GBP know that it will result in Khan receiving more than 1.25million dollars.. and so they are happy to go ahead... It isn't a case of after each fight, GBP writing out a cheque for 1.25million or more.

Do you understand what I mean?

The best way to think of GBP and Team Khan, are just conduits through which other peoples money reaches Khan. GBP and TK themselves don't pay him anything, their aim is to create a fight in which the revenue he gets from HBO,SKY,Gate is greater than 1.25million dollars. Sometimes, such as for the Mallignaggi fight, it doesn't add up.. and the end sum is less than the 'guarantee' because HBO wasn't willing to pay enough.. GBP didn't go into their money and pay him, Khan just accepted the lesser figure

I always knew maidana didn't have the power to knock khan out. His fitness is too good to be clubbed into submission. Only a kayo artist would knock khan out, someone who can knock out with clean shots like judah, ortiz, marquez etc.
