Then you havn't read it properly. Khan is not guaranteed 1.5million dollars from GBP for each fight A ridiculous analogy would be me, going into the horse business, forming a relationship with a horse trainer and a jockey and us all agreeing that the jockey should receive at least 10K per race that we are in. We then all go out and find races to ensure we make enough money to go around and in the process he'll make more than 10K. Then someone else (you in this case) reading in the paper about a race, saying "oh well it doesn't matter what the race prize money is, JockeyXYZ still gets 10K from boxing4eva"!, No he doesn't. I am not solely responsible for him receiving 10K, nor if he doesn't get that should I pay him out of my own pocket, nor do I write him a cheque for 10K after each race from my pocket. Together we all agreed that's what he should receive per race, it's as much his responsibility as it is mine when we picked the race.
At least we know who it is now,McCloskey is not a bad fight, when we know it is just a keep busy fight before a fight with Bradley. At Least McCloskey is a proper light welter,I wonder how many fans he will bring over.
manchester has a huge irish community, khan is supported well but still has never sold out the MEN at any stage of his career...i think there is a good chance that a large section of the support could be mccloskey fans
Plenty of Irish people in Manchester area. Alot of people from Ireland will be heading over as well (I'll be heading as well:thumbsup). People might say there wasn't many at the Morrison fight, but this is different. Khan is a huge star/great boxer while Morrison is an average fighter (no disrespect).
I understand that, but when we think how many Irish people would be attending, we're talking 5,000 at max probably. The 15,000 will outweigh the 5,000.
It wont sell out. And per usual Khan fights the opponent will have a big following with everyone at the end cheering for Khan.
Oh, so how do you know this? Last I remember, Khan sold 10,000 tickets in 2 and a half weeks for his World Title fight against KOTELNIK after it had to be moved. His stock has rised drastically since then. I almost guarantee it'll be a near sell-out.
Can't believe I missed that little gem Maidana doesn't punch hard enough to knock Khan out but a faded and mentally weak Judah does? Pretty much all the elite fighters at 140 hit hard enough to stop Khan - the key is being able to land often enough, accurately enough and in a short enough period in order to do so....... whilst not being outboxed or stopped yourself. The Prescott KO loss was a one-off, he'll never charge across the ring like a '**** again, and he'll never be as badly prepared again either. People calling for a rematch need to have a word with themselves. He's since shut out Kotelnik (who beat Alexander), scored a dominant stoppage over Malignaggi and beaten Maidana - who many people expected him to run a mile from. A win over Prescott would hold no meaning what so ever, other than a small amount of seriously hollow revenge.
