Ah yes the same Kotelnik fight were the top tier was closed off and everyone got moved about ten rows down. Atmosphere was dire as well...Why remind me of a horrible night :|:|

Anyway it won't sell out. Usually its who Khan fights that draws crowds. Ala Barrera.

It was still a near sell-out, and this was a fight before Khan was completely sparked out.

The majority of tickets sold will be neither Khan fans OR Mccloskey fans.. it's people casual sporting fans who don't know a great deal about boxing but know of his name through the olympics and what not who will go "oooh, Amir Khan at MEN arena, i'll take blah to see that"

I went because it was a chance to see Barrera fight........ and because there was the hope Barrera would beat Khan. The amount of Scottish Mexicans that night was unrivalled! :deal

    ....I am not Scottish.

    This.

A lot of the support was there for Barrera, but there was Khan support there as well.

My mistake, I meant after*. He was developing. The Prescott fight did 10K. He wasn't a World Champ then. His stock is risen, and has become respected a lot more than he was.

    I'm sure it'll be a near-sell out.

Khan has not fought at home for over a year plus coming off his FOTY vs Maidana over in the States, Khan's stock has up'd even more now, it will be near sell out at MEN in April.

    Scottish mexicans?
Excuse my ignorance but are there a lot of mexicans in scotland? If so i would like to meet some and get them to qoute phrases from 'blood in blood out' in their mexiscottish accent.

It's all hype mate. Check my posts before the fight, I said khan could take maidana's best shots and he did. Maidana hasn't laid out any top level fighter with a clean shot to the chin.

:huh MEN Arena holds about 20,000. What do you classify as a full sell-out?

I don't quite see how 'anyone' can do that. I'd like to see Froch/DeGale/Brook etc do that.

Thats what I said at the time and history has shown me to be correct, because he didn't have the power :)
