Anyone heard anything regarding the undercard? Id say HBO will want at least one other decent fight on it?
I'm well aware of Khan's fanbase. I've been to a few fights, but that's not to say General Sports fan's dont attend his fights. Most of the General support has not been always for him. If you're talking about loyal, then maybe you're referring to 'Khan's Army', which really isn't huge. The "20% general boxing fans like us, 20% casuals" is what I'm trying to say. That's basically 40% of General Boxing/Sport fans, which is a big amount. Nearly 50%, so that's clearly a drastic number.
Grazed is scraping. I don't understand how that shot scraped Khan. Maybe because you saw that punch as it slid off of Khan, but that's what happens when you get punched, no? :huh Not a grazing shot.
I don't disagree that he has a loyal fan base. However, the large proportion of the people who consider themselves to be his fans are completely clueless about boxing, wouldn't know who Timothy Bradley is if you asked them. There's nothing wrong in this, it's just that they know who he is because of his increased exposure. My grandma would probably say she was a fan of Khan if you asked her That said, he has just as many if not more 'Hardcore' fans as anyone else. If I had to break it down i'd say it would be something like 30% Khan, 20% Mccloskey, and the remaining majority to be 'General public'. I suppose it gets back to the neverending football fan argument of what constitutes a fan.
People who don't know a great deal about boxing buying most of the tickets or it being impossible for Maidana to stop Khan. I don't know what's the best of those two!
mcloskey after all, should be good he may be an outsider but he's far from beaten already, styles make fights, and he stands a chance of putting up a good challenge, the old m.e.n. is a brick throw away, so good night and good news alround.
I suppose it's one of those things that can't be known, but only speculated on. 'Could' Maidana one punch KO Khan? Possibly in some situations. However Khan took some pretty clean punches but dealt with it, did what he had to do. I still firmly believe Khan has "chin" issues, but what he showed in abundance was mental determination and the conditioning to ride out those periods after he's been hit. Punching plodders like Maidana are not what Khan needs to really fear.
Far from beaten already... wait till the Sky machine starts up Tommorow and tuesday Portside. Come 14th/15th of April, Mccloskey is going to be the combination of an Irish Manny Pac, Floyd Mayweather and Rocky.
I would imagine he has read back all the **** he has ever read and ranked them in order of shitness and you come out top. I have just come back and on the airplane I was listening to Bunceys podcast and it said Witter had agreed everything, so what happened?
Team Khan sent him an offer, HE accepted. They said "Ok great, we'll get back to you".. Sky said "Hang on, last week he told us he can no longer make 140lb......can you please look at other opponents" So they went to Peterson with an improved offer of $300K... He rejected it.. sent a counter offer.. Team Khan said no.. and gave the $300K offer to Mccloskey, who accepted.. and voila
