Wow, oddmakers have listed Shogun as a +150 underdog to Bones (who's listed at -180).

Obviously, the lines will change as the fight night gets nearer, but am I the only one who's taken aback by this?

Granted, Bones is a top contender and physically gifted fighter, but I fully expect Shogun to put on a Muay Thai clinic and get the KO sometime in round 4 or 5.

What do you guys think about this?

EDIT: Here's a link to a betting sight. Scroll down to UFC 128 to see the odds:

I dont think it will even be a fight.
    Jones is rag dolling guys.
He is a monster. He doesn't look like he belongs at 205.

Combined with the layoff for shogun... it doesn't look good.

This surprises me. It will change, I'm sure.

This kid could be the next Fedor in the division. He's amazing.

Although where yet to see the chin tested at the top level, that may change everything.

hard to judge. Yesterday after the fight i was thinking that if Jones pays anything better than 2/3 i will lay a bet on him. 2/3 = -150

seems like the odds-makers read the fight like i did

Jones is a steam train. Shogun is the missing track!

    Someone is getting de-railed.

He is so big and long and strong at the weight it's scary. His takedowns are undefendable almost, the first one against Bader he just reached out with his telescopic arms and grabbed hold of his ankle for the trip. Bader is a big strong LHW but his TD attempts were swatted away with conteptuous ease. Plus Bader landed a big punch and JJ never blinked.

He is so calm in the cage it's eery.

I'd definitely put money on shogun if he was the underdog.

i won't be surpise if shogun takes this and own jones.

jones isn't ready for what shogun brings to the table especially when the stakes are at the highest level...

shogun is just too mentally strong and extremely experienced for jones...

it's worth putting money on either guy if they are the underdog in this fight.

jones in undeniably a special fighter though and he's the future - if he's the future at 23 is the million dollar question.

Rua will take him out, Jones's striking still seems sloppy to me.

Meh, last time Rua came to a fight after knee surgery we all know what happened. I wouldn't want to bet on this fight unless he had a tune up before so I could at least see what kind of shape he was in.
