Johnson had his shot then he lost to Sheika who Calzaghe outclassed in his next fight. I like the road warrior, but why would calzaghe duck him? no way does any version of johnson beat calzaghe
out of those listed Lacy would be the the top guy , but i disagree that he was the best smw of the decade...
One of the top American SMW of the decade. You havent named a better American SMW to Lacy and Mitchell Exposed him because Calzaghe was the best
Froch is an ATG already, the only question left is if he could beat SRR, SRL, and SNV at once. If he wins the S6 that question is no doubt a 'yes' /ESB
I wouldn't like to say who has the better resume while Froch is still fighting, but if Froch fights for a few more years (even with losses) he will surpass Calzaghe's resume for sure. I rate Calzaghe highly for his head to head ability, not his record
How do you work that out :huh Froch beat Pascal who at the time hadnt beaten anyone of note and wasnt a top 10 SMW. Froch beat Taylor, a good come from behind victory but Taylor was only 2 fights past losing on points to Pavlik and was never a great SMW. Froch beat Dirrell, but who has Dirrell beaten? Abraham by DQ, a former MW with no big wins. Froch beat Abraham who was coming off a loss. Froch lost to Kessler in a hard close fight. Who was coming off a loss That doesnt compare anywhere near to what Calzaghe did at SMW. Consider at SMW, M Veit who Calzaghe beat has done more than Dirrell has done, just isnt as recognised. Eubank, Woodhall, Reid, Mitchell, Kessler, Lacy etc all accomplished more at SMW than any of the mentioned fighters on Frochs win resume and that isnt all of Calzaghes resume.
Well Eubank was shot for a start. I don't think Froch needs anything more than two or three big wins to out-do Calzaghe. Avenging the Kessler loss would go a long way towards that
Very limited assessment. Calzaghe beat everyone put in front of him for over a decade. Consistency like that is an amazing feat, most ATG's have lost to lesser fighters on their off - nights. JC doesn't have the one career - defining win, neither has Froch. But he beat a prime Kessler when he was 36 and slightly on the downhill while prime Froch lost to a clearly past - prime Kessler. This was right after an unconvincing win over Dirrell in a fight many felt he had lost. Calzaghe never had a two fights in a row that he arguably lost. Froch needs to win 10 - 15 fights convincingly before being close to Calzaghe.
Eubkan was good enough to jump to weightclasses and be competitive against Carl Thompson....how shot is that?
If you pay close attention to the calzaghe nuthuggers, they only come out of the woodworks to spread ATG bull**** than go back into hibernation
Look at this guy Bailey. What a ****ing loser. Endless drivel defending his hero Slappy Joe. Joe never gave a **** about the fans Bailey, why do you care about him so much?
