In the latest WBA HW rankings Povetkin took the #2 spot from Denis Boytsov who is still injured.

If Chagaev dont pass the medical test (very likely), Povetkin will be the next available man. Another boxing page reports WBA orders Haye-Povetkin if Chagaev is not allowed to box.

IMO Povetkin is far more dangerous than Chagaev.

Does anybody believes Haye fights Povetkin at May 21st?

Povetkin is way better than the current version of Chagaev. If Haye doesn't face a Klitschko Povetkin'd be a respectable choice (not like he has a choice as he's his mandatory...).

I was in the arena and saw Povetkin and Atlas live against Nicolai Firtha. He claimed to have injured his hand early in the fight and that's why he didn't knock Firtha out.

I ****ING HOPE SO!!!! I've backed Haye many a time, but my patience is wearing a little thin. Povetnik is as good as it gets if you aren't fighting the klits, he's been in and around the top for a while now. If Haye is serious about cleaning up the division, he'll get this fight on.

Well I don't see him vacating his belt, so surely he'll take the fight? Or else he loses his biggest bargaining chip against a klit.

Haye-Povetkin would be a great fight between two possible Klitschko heir apparents.

But somehow i feel Haye finding an excuse....

WBA has already ordered eliminator bout to be held to find out who´s going to be Haye´s mandatory challenger.

Fighters selected to this eliminator bout are ... Mormeck and Rahman :happy

Haye - Povetkin would have been a good fight, though

This would be good for Haye to take. At best, it'll allow him to win back some of the respect he's been losing.

Why does Haye fight once a year? Harrison threw one ****ing jab in the entire fight and Haye needs 6 months to recover? He should be fighting another bum in March and then W. Klitschko in July.

Povetkin is from sauerland and haye got 1 fight left with sauerland. So i wonder what is going on. Sauerland want the wba strap with a fighter they belong. When haye dont knock out povetkin, the belt will go to povetkin cuz haye will be no longer sauerland after the fight and trust me sauerland will pay the referee to get the wba belt for their man povetkin

It's not gonna happen, period. Haye will fight Rahman/Mormeck, then another washed-up old-timer (Holyfield?) and retire leaving his cocksuckers here to praise his legendary achievements...

He won't be fighting Povetkin May 21st. Where is the article saying what you said?
