I'll probably get flamed for saying this but offensively he sometimes looks a bit like SRL. The way they both throw that pull counter is pretty similar and Mayweather sometimes kinda squares up like him....or maybe I'm imagining it!

Anyway, who did Floyd idolise as a youngster? I suppose the obvipous answer is Snr and Roger, but there must have been others

well his uncle and dad were fighters so im sure he looked at them. they have been teaching him since day one. shaping his defensive genius and offensive tools. but to answer the question who style he is simillar to. id go with a mix between pernell whitiker and srl. he doesn't quite have the defensive tools of whittiker or the offense of srl but still he's exceptional in both areas, and thats why he's so good.

In Floyd's debut and like one or two fights after that he was trying to fight like sweet pea...

But to be honest he fights like his uncles and dad... it's like he is the perfected version of both. Floyd senior had the defense and Roger had the offensive... put them together, you have Floyd. Floyd just took it to the next level with his ring intelligence, way better reflexes, and athleticism. His punches are sharper than Rogers and faster, although roger in his prime throw a right hand much like Floyd, but just not as sharp and accurate. Floyd's defense is much like his fathers, only different is Floyd has a better sense of where and when punches are coming. He has been working with the defense and offense since he was born basically, so it is so conditioned in him, it's all instinctive.
