According to The Ring, Marquez won't fight Morales and instead will pursue other options. A few days ago Steve Kim Tweeted that the word is Marquez may end up jumping ship.

The Ring article also mentioned that Erik Morales has set his sights on Marcos Maidana who he feels he has the technical skills to defeat. Apparently, the April 9th PPV will move forward and Golden Boy is close to finalizing a Robert Guerrero-Michael Katsidis fight for the show to go along with Winky Wright-Mathew Macklin, which is already set.

On another note, Todd Duboef from Top Rank posted this picture from the Super Bowl yesterday on his Twitter..

The one positive to this would be the full retirement of a great fighter once he gets a pasting from Maidana.

Extremely dangerous to fight either Marquez or Maidana. Maidana could seriously hurt him.

Then again, if he somehow won, that would be a helluvan acheivement.

It's not implausible that Morales could give a good account of himself against Maidana.

I think morales vs maidana isn't as one sided as is made out. Maidana was supposed to kill corley and looked quite average.

Morales is too much of a warrior to have a chance in this fight. Corley was suited to Maidana's style. Morales isn't.

    Photoshopped.
They forgot to scale down his head when they put it on the body.
Comparing it to the other 2 guys, it's no where near realistic.

Maidana also looked like a guy who didn't train particularly hard for that fight either. His conditioning against Khan and Corley was like night and day.
