Clottey vs Cotto: Is Clottey really that good or did the cut badly affect Cotto?

The OP is overrating Cotto by even asking this question. Clottey and Cotto are on the same level. Neither guy is significantly better than the other. It's a 50-50 fight. What has Cotto done to show he's just so much better than Clottey?

Yeah Clottey looked like **** against Pacquaio, but Pacquaio was a volume puncher in that fight. That whole style is all wrong against a volume puncher. You saw what happened to Winky when he fought an inferior fighter in Williams. Styles make fights

 

Cotto is the overall better fighter/boxer of the 2...better ring generalship/footwork/handspeed/combinations the only thing clottey has its a turtle shell tight defense...i think its you who is overrating clottey who is yet to be in an entertaining fight to say the least:hi:

 

He's good as he showed against margarito and cotto that he can compete with them. Pac is just on another level. I mean look at how he dominated cotto and clottey.

 

My bad. Cotto won 1st, 4th, 6th and 12th. 6th round was the "Clottey in the corner for a minute" round. 5th round was the round Clottey won and got hurt in.

I think we all agree that Pac is on another level, but Cotto-Clottey-Margarito, none of these guys are better than the other, as shown when they went head to head. I enjoy watching Cotto fight & i think is entertaining, but his fans tend to overrate him.

 

People are crazy if they think it was just a cut bothering Cotto. Clottey is damned good. He dispatched Zab Judah faster than Cotto did and with a cut, but people think it wasn't skill? Margo set a record throwing punches to beat him and didn't look good doing so. Luck? Please.

There has been NO FIGHT that Josh Clottey wasn't extremely competitive in. If he was American or any other nationality but African he would be a household name. And no it is not about skin color it is about identity, fight economics, and style.

Clottey is a top class welterweight. The pacquiao fight im sure he was being paid to lose.

Your more of a Cotto fan as your avatar indicates, so your just backing your guy. I'm a gambler who has no emotional attachment to fighters which makes me unbiased.
