Even his handspeed was insane against Barkley, and handspeed is not something Toney was known for. I think that fight was just one of those nights where a guy excels and is everything he can be, much like Hatton's supernatural perfomance against Tszyu which he never matched again.

Definitely Toney. Toney displayed his inside, mid range Boxing, walked his opponents onto a variety of counters.

Writing in big letters does not fool anyone into thinking you haven't been royally owned by this frankly rather gorgeous post:

You lose to superior knowledge, as you always always do. :hi:

Calzaghe-Lacy was certainly the most dominant of the four, I wouldn't argue with that. It was a beatdown of epic proportions!! But it definitely isn't in the running to be the best showcase of boxing skills, in my opinion at least.

In terms of skill Toney v Barkley hands down! Toney's shoulder roll is a thing of beauty! Barkley got countered to death!

It seems we do agree on Froch (other than the scoring of Froch-Dirrell), as I know you are a big fan of the Cobra, and I have immense respect for his warrior mentality and the way he conducts himself outside the ring.

Calzaghe was superb against Lacy. Whether it was "as superb" as other performances by other top fighters is another question, but there's no denying it was a special performance, no denying that at all.

One thing we can't agree on is Headbanger though! I seriously don't understand how a poster like you who takes time and effort to make genuinely good and interesting threads like your heavyweight fights list can have anything but utter contempt for a ****ing braindead troll rodent like him. The guy only exists on this forum to post emoticons, abuse and bile. He's the absolute lowest of the low when it comes to a boxing forum!

    Toney v Jones.

The most evenly matched, highest skill set, competetive, near prime and relevant fight on the list.

It can't be Jones. Toney was dead at the weigh in.

There's a difference between boxing skills and athleticism. Roy takes the cake in the athleticism department but fundamentally he was very flawed. I'd say Hopkins-Tito
