This isn't for those who appreciate Mayweather's skills and talent in the ring. I think any boxing fan should be dazzled by his abilities in the ring. This question is for those who always root for Mayweather. Actual fans who always want to see him win. I could never bring myself to cheer for Floyd for several reasons. 1. The fact he has no interest in creating a legacy for himself, he could have a prime Mosley, Cotto, Margarito, Williams and Pac on his resume in the last few years yet he "retires" while he is in his prime. He is only interested in money and as a boxing fan this disgusts me. 2. His personality is vile. His obsession with money and material wealth makes me sick. He thinks having more money or possessions makes one a superior person. It's a disgraceful attitude and is a terrible influence for young people. He and his team's smear campaign of Pac has been nothing short of despicable. What kind of person accuses another athlete of being on steroids when there is absolutely no evidence to back it up. You don't get lower than that. 3. He is a woman beater. 4. His "all about the money" attitude when it comes to fights is bad for boxing. It only encourages future great fighters to follow in his footsteps. 5. He comes across as a baby in interviews. His "smack talk" is just cringe worthy. So all in all I think Mayweather is an absolutely vile person, my question is, why do you want him to win? What are your reasons? Because there isn't a single thing about him that would make me want to cheer for him.
He is black so he will always have fans that justify his every move He was one of my favourite fighters... and still is. I thought he would mature, but i hate his attitude. I am not jealous of his wealth.. in fact i am happy for him, and the fact he has a hot wife!! Well played!! Just can't take him seriously anymore. Ali talked lots of smack but always fought the best. Mayweather talks crap, flaunts money, insults people etc etc and then fights people like Baldomir. Great talent, but his record does not reflect the amazing fighter that he is. He could have beaten everyone at Welter if he had just laced them up and gotten in the ring. I also agree about the smear campaign against Pac Man... bad for boxing and totally unfounded.
:deal damn good post. i have to say though, it's hard for me to be authentically happy for another person gaining wealth unless it's someone i know. maybe a close relative or friend. for athletes, i couldn't care less.
I'm not jealous of his wealth, I hate the way he thinks it makes him somehow better than others. It's his attitude to being wealthy that I dislike. Throwing money around like an idiot, that **** isn't on. There are wealthier athletes who I really like.
I'm not sad enough keep tabs on the personal finances of sports stars. If what you say is true then what I said was wrong. I like many athletes who are also massively wealthy. Happy now? Would you care to address my OP?
You have 5 points, yet mention the dude's wealth and money 3 times. "Men shouldn't be jealous, that's a female trait." --Sean Carter
1. Didn't he call out a prime Mosley? Shall we get into the tooth ache/vacation debate? He wanted Cotto but he was too green. Money stopped the Margarito fight happening. 2. I couldn't care less how he acts with his money, he has it and flaunts it. Just because he throws money around is no different from half of these celebrities spending millions on a gold plated, diamond encrusted iPhone's etc. The difference is Mayweather tells you he's rich, whilst others show you it through their material possesions. Have a look at what else Mayweather does behind the scenes, like the Floyd Mayweather Jr Foundation http://www.facebook.com/tfmjf#!/tfmjf?v=info. What other fighters have foundations up and running? And I don't mean showing your face at a charity event. There is no need to accuse another fighter of cheating that I can agree with and join those criticising Mayweather, but who's perfect? 3. Tyson was a convicted ******. Ali cheated on his wives. Pacquiao Cheated on his wife. Hopkins went to prison for multiple charges. Who has led the perfect life? Boxer's are not saints deal with it. 4. If it was "all about the money" he wouldn't train like he does and wouldn't have won 6 titles in 5 different weight classes. Watch his post fight interviews to see his love for the sport and opponents. 5. If it was just baby talk then why would his fights sell so well? He is a promotional genious let's face it, he can sell a fight to those who want to see him win and those who want to see him lose. Look at his past interviews and pre fight promotion, being humble didn't bring in these large numbers for Floyd, it works to be the bad guy. All in all Floyd has flaws, but I have been a fan from the early stages in his career and have watched him develop. I am a fan of his skills and Floyd Mayweather Jr as a person. End of.
The first point is about how he chooses money over legacy. The second point is his attitude to being rich. The third point was that the first point encourages other future boxers to follow in his footsteps. Now, are you a Mayweather fan? If so please, address my OP, instead of making silly accusations. Jealousy has nothing to do with it.
:deal "I'm not sad enough to keep tabs..." yet you're clearly obsessed with Mayweather's money. That's all that I am going to respond to your transparent, agenda-driven, hateful bull**** of a post. Later bro.
These *****'s are ****ing cringeworthy. They will do anything to defend their heroes honour, and do so without realising that they look like fools in the process :rofl
