i didn't contradict myself roach and khan do spend many hours a day devising gameplan and after that the fighters are on their own. ariza exaggerated with the 1.5 hours comment, any idiot with a brain cell could tell. btw i thought ariza doesn't know anything?
that jim my man is the truest quote in this thread:thumbsup khan has gassed in a hell of a lot of his fights as well(especially against aggressive fighters),he just doesn't like come forward fighters
By making a mistake, one mistake does not make you a bad coach as I said already. All i am saying is Khan overtrained in his last camp, get over it.
No he didn't he fought 12 hard rounds and finished the 12th round big. oh by the way you originally said its a good thing he sacked ariza and now its freddies mistake huh?
im saying.. people must have forgotten when he dropped maidana, he went on the finnish mode but maidana was saved by the bell. Khan thought he was finished goods but was wrong and had to go back to square one and realised it will be a long night.
They are Khan's team its a joint call, and a bad call in my view. I know Roach gives the green light for the sparring and i already went though on why he might of been forced into doing that.
btw overtraining is not an easy thing to do, the harder and more we train our body builds its workout capacity. and overtraining isn't something minor like a cold where it comes and goes or just has little effects. overtraining is a real condition with symptoms such as extreme weight loss, depression, insomnia, fatigue, weakened immune system etc etc any conditioning coach knows when an athlete is overtrained as their resting heart rate is highly increased, its not something which can be brushed under the carpet. infinite intensity by ross enamait, some of you should buy the book, best book i've read on boxing conditioning/strength.
after the training, its all about the mental gain! The body is trained for a battle, all is left is the mind and state of the fighter ready to engage. Its important to keep the fighter mentally strong and positive! Mike TYson 101 : tokyo 1989.
I think being inactive last year did have a negative efefct on Khan. Team Khan are responsible for not finding an opponent for him before Ramadan!
