read it on another site. the reason Marquez rejected the morales deal is because it included an extension of his contract with GBP which is about to expire next month. If he is leaving GBP, then good luck to them and to HBO lol, only Khan and hopefully Alvarez will be the only stars left. heads will roll

I think he'd be willing to go the way Mosley did just to get a fight with Manny.

well, retirement is just around the corner so I wouldn't blame him.

If not for GBP adding their cut to JMM's demand, JMM might have gotten his 3rd fight with Pac.

Arum is not going to let Manny fight anyone but top rank fighters. I think this has been made clear.

Everyone else will either "ask for too much money" or "not be a big enough name."

I'm not fan of DLH, but you state it as if it was GBP's fault for JMM-Pac 3 not happening......

.......Marquez is under contract to GBP, and GBP was willing to step aside and let Arum soley promote that fight.
Arum was going to pocket more money into his own pocket than Marquez and GBP put together, not to mention the 20+Million that was going into Pacquiao's pockets......

What Marquez and GBP were asking for was chump change in comparison to the money Arum himself was going to pocket, and yet you make your statement as if its GBP's fault for the fight not happening.

DLH had to make a move sometime if he wants to purchase the Raiders and move them back to LA, I guess this was it.

if you look at their proposal, they overpriced themselves (if you compare from what he got from Floyd)

I agree. Top Rank is obviously deeper, but I really like Golden Boy's stable.

I honestly think it had more to do with Arum not wanting to give GBP a single goddamned cent. This is the worst cold war they've had so far. GBP WAS willing to let Top Rank promote everything. The amount Marquez asked for himself was okay but the total Top Rank would be paying out included something for their absolute rival promotion and out of spite, Bob said **** no. It is what it is.

Marquez was to get exactly what he got vs Mayweather, the rest was to go to GBP.

Arum saying Marquez overpriced himself is really saying, "Pacquiao is'nt the draw that Mayweather is, its why Marquez should get less for fighting Pacquiao."

What GBP was asking for of Arum for JMM to fight Pacquiao, dwarfs what GBP and JMM made in total for the Mayweather fight.

You have to take into account that GBP made significantly much more than Marquez pocketed for that Mayweather fight.

Arum or anyone with a brain surely did'nt expect GBP to bow out of a JMM-Pac promotion without getting some compensation.

Chump change is what GBP was asking of Arum for the sake of JMM getting that fight, and they still got rejected.
