A welterweight tournament featuring Nick Themelakis, Matthew Paulley, Tim Hunt, Jason Kanofski, Alex Ahtong, Jimmy James, Bobby Antonakos and Todd Kidd, is coming up shortly.

    Here's the blurb:

An Australian boxing revolution is here…

The Australian Fight Series has taken the eight best boxers in the Welterweight division and will put them head to head against each other. Over a series of four 1st Round contests points will be scored for wins and knockouts, with semi-finals and a Grand Final to follow.

The winner will be the ‘best-of-the-best’. Not only will they be crowned the Australian Fight Series Champion, they also receive the opportunity to fight in the USA. An opportunity of a lifetime.

Bringing a fresh approach to the promotion of Australian boxing, the Australian Fight Series delivers to the general public exactly what they want to see…the best fighters all committed to proving they are the best.

"To be the best, you gotta beat the best"

Perhaps a Paulley v Kidd final Stiff Jab?

Steve Maxwell would have won this thing if he was in it. But has a (minor) WBC title bout coming up in Russia.

Glad to see boxing is still on the radar and they're trying something different to promote it!

Tod Kidd should win this hands down, totally agree on that one.

Tim Hunt was knocked out by Jason Crowe, he doesnt have a very solid chin.

Bobby Antonakos, shouldnt even be in there. The guy is a ******, wouldnt even fight me and apparently im hopeless. This guy just fights blokes he knows he can defeat, he will be the 1st one knocked out and most likely get his ass handed to him in the process.

Alex Ahtong, WTF? imo Alex is a very ordinary boxer, id rate him the same as Bobby.

Jimmy James, this guy just fights blokes with a string of losses, the same as Bobby Antoknos, Jimmy does try to step up but when he does he falls very short, he was knocked out against Maxwell in 3 rounds. I dont rate this guy very high either.

Jason Kanofski, not to bad however he is coming off a loosing streak, loosing his last 3 fights by decision, he did go the distance with Philip Holiday, loosing to a SD. Id rate him much highter than the others thus far.

Matthew Paulley, experianced but not a good boxer, he was knocked out in 2 rounds by Maxwell in his last fight.

Nick Themelakis is the worst of them all, this bloke lost his first two fights, had a draw his 3rd fight then lost again in his 4th fight, he then wins his next two fights.

These guys are the BEST? What a farkn JOKE..CHB you mention nothing about these blokes who shouldnt be there, why is that? dont you know much about boxing or you just chose not to say anything about this? i note you do mention maxwell so there is some hope you have a little boxing knowledge.

Do you think these guys should ALL be there? do you think we have better boxers that are much more deserving?

I put the information up for people to read and discuss. Then I nominated who might make the final.

From your ******ed post above it sounds like you think you should be in it yourself m8.

Bobby would hospitalise a Bozo like you - remember you chose Zelky for your prefered first pro opponent because you thought he'd be easy - don't go slinging off at anyone else when you live in a glass house yourself dumbo.

This is very different to 'Prizefighter' in that they only have the one fight on the night, then back up again in a month or so's time, more like the super middle super six format, I'm led to believe, only not spread over two decades.

Sure is...about 50 notches down in the quality.

What you fail to see is that these boxers are all the same weight, and all approximately the same ability and should make for some quality fights.

These guys are all professional boxers, have gone way beyond a few fights as a junior in the amateurs, I find it offensive that you belittle them all in the derogatory way that you have. Perhaps have a couple of fights as a senior, nay as a pro before passing such mean spirited judgement.

Anyone that bags this new australian fight series is hard to please.sure there could be a few other blokes in the list and some out but its a awesome idea.
Todd Kidd is stepping up in weight so mite be tuffer for him then most people think.

Wake upto yourself dckhead. Zelky and i were talking and on good terms when Hyder tried to match the fight with Bobby on a fox 8 card. Next time do a little research before you open that trap. Its a well known fact as Billy went on and posted on ABF forums after i got on there giving them sht for knocking back the fight and opting for a taxi driver instead.

And Dberry, im an old man, retired.. just telling it like it is. Best of the best my farkn ass, reminds me of the shows in thailand, BEST OF THE BEST, REAL FIGHT REAL FIGHT, CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS, BEST OF THE BEST, TONIGHT TONIGHT TONIGHT but none of them are best of fckn anything or even come close.

Todd Kidd will win this hands down.
