lol, I see you are getting real defensive here. What did Mr. Slick Raheem do after his win over Morales? Think about it. The slickest boxer Pac ever faced was a prime Sasakul who was lineal champ and had defeated every fighter he ever faced. Pac knocked him out in 8 rounds. Just saying. Pac's been knocked out by bums when he was a teenager, but he's beaten all the ATGs that he's faced. And that includes winning a trilogy against Morales, knocking him out tiwce (Pac the only man in history to knock out Morales, or even knock him down legit). Which category does Floyd fit in to?
He does have some problems with southpaws. Not any southpaw but with ones who can counter and most importantly punch with him. If they can match him for speed, outwork him and have good feet as well then he's in for hell.(guess who can do that. Though I still think he beats Pac) The reason he struggles is because Floyd squares up against southpaws. It's very difficult to roll and parry and counter when you're squared up. The incoming shots have a bigger target and thats why Chop Chop caught Floyd at the end of the third and beginning of the 4th.
two of those losses came to PAcquiao himself. Two others were at LW, a division he had never fought in before. One of them was against Barrera who himself is an ATG. All of Morales' losses were close, competitive fights dsepite the circumstance, except his losses to Pacquiao. You can find reasons to discredit any win in history anyways. There are always excuses after every Pac victory, no matter who he beats and how. I don't see you saying that Floyd v Judah was on a stretch where Judah went 4 fights without a win. And that Judah lost to Baldomir before he fought FLoyd and still managed to win 4 rounds and deck Mayweather. As for Corley, Mayweather fought him in a stretch where he lost 3 out of 4 fights. and we're not talking about losing close battles to an ATG or moving up in weight like Morales was doing. then again, I'm used to these kind of double standards when it comes to Pac.
Floyd beat up 6 southpaws in his career. Zab won 2-3 rounds. I don't know why people always say Zab won FOUR rounds. Zab CLEARLY won the 1st 2 rounds, CLEARLY got beatup in the 3rd, and the 4th could go to either man. Floyd did all the real damage in the 4th, but Zab landed the flashier punches.
This clears things up. Wasn't Jr still being trained by his father in his 2nd pro fight, a southpaw opponent? They knew each other, so Zab was one of the few fighters that managed to challenge him. None of the prior southpaws Floyd has fought are as aggressive as emmanuel. Floyd started off as the aggressor in those fights walking them down behind his right hand and high guard, barely using the jab. emmanuel will square his shoulders and come towards Floyd, allowing Floyd to use the jab often.
Like I said, I think Mayweather wins. But I dont think you can doubt that he does have those tendancies when he fights southpaws, which makes a Pacquiao fight difficult for him.
Thats not true, Raheem schooled Morales wide before Pacquaio and before you claim Morales wasn't comfortable at lightweight, remember Raheem was coming up from 126 himself and Morales was drained at 130lbs Judah and Corley would go on losing runs after Mayweather but were actually peaked when Mayweather fought them
he lost a few rounds to them, so they say he has 'problems', he has however beaten every one he has ever faced and on top of that he has probably faced more southpaws than the average fighter (sometimes fighters havent faced a southpaw in almost a decade ect)
Chop Chop Corley rocked him as well as Judah. The truth is thats about the worst trouble hes ever been in and it has been against lefties. He loses his shoulder roll defense against them and his jab, I think. These are decent fighters and Floyd ended up beating them, but theres no doubt he is less effective against them, and noticeably. He's not a 'bad' fighter against them, just not as good as he is against right handers.
Look. Floyd will fight Manny in the same matter he fought Gatti. He will be thinking fast and make Manny have to think fast. He will attack swift and take what Manny gives him and nothing more until he zaps Manny's power which can be done. Morales zapped his damn power in their first fight by going to the body and back up top. In no way am I comparing Gatti to Manny. I am just saying Floyd is going to be in that kind of mood.
