I think a Prime Mayorga would wash cotto.... thats just my opinion tho... was wondering what everyoen else thingks...
Would be some ultimate see-saw ****...Mayo will come out swinging and WILL find Cotto early..might hurt him, may even drop him..an early stoppage for Ricardo isnt absolute fantasy either. I do think Miguel can weather this and come back to outbox Mayorga...start picking up rounds and keeping Ricardo pinned down to a few furious bumrushes per round. Cotto looks in control and heading to a points verdict...but he has to take some awesome punishment to get the ascendency and the energy he is putting to taking these rounds gradually starts to run out. What happens next I don't know..I could definitely see Mayorga rallying and stopping Cotto..but I could certainly see Mayorga's own stamina issues and more erratic offence letting Miguel off the hook...whereas Margarito's more systematic and consistent attack wore Cotto down and was the right way to go about finishing him off. You dont know with Ricardo, he will throw the kitchen sink in 30-45 secs period than stop to taunt and showboat. Great fight, wish their careers synced up a bit more so it could of happened...Obviously Cotto is much more skilled and the classier operator but I wont argue with anyone who asserts that many of the things Mayorga does means he is all wrong for Miguel.
Your avatar made that post comedy gold! But I disagree, Cotto's got too many skills and body punches for Mayorga to handle.
Scrolled up to see it LMAO. Good one man. I'll take a blow from her anyday. I'll let Cotto have Mayorga lol
Cotto, at his prime, was a beast. One of my all time favorite fighters to watch. He simply outclasses Mayorga with accurate combinations and breaks him down until a 8-9 round ko/tko.
mayorga has true tko's from shane oscar & tito.... cotto is no where near as strong as those guys... don't think he'd be able to escape mayorga for 12
