I don't like to think that David Haye can beat anyone anymore. I just want to see him lose way too much. I'd pick anyone over him.
On one hand you have a big puncher who's an early starter with less than stellar stamina & a shakey chin. That would be Haye. On the other hand you have a very good boxer with sound technique, decent power, excellent accuracy and stamina, but he's a slow starter who plods along at times. He's not that hard to hit, just ask Eddie Chambers. That would be Povetkin. If Povetkin can whether the early storm of Haymakers and the awkward style of Haye I think he can break Haye down and get a TKO stoppage later in the fight. Obviously Haye is faster & he punches harder but POvetkin is the better boxer technique wise. Def. a tough fight to call.
:yep I dislike Haye myself & there's practically no boxer that I wouldn't like to see beat him. That being said, this was supposed to be about who you think would win. :good
I picked Haye by dec. I think he would potshot potvetkin for the first 2-3 rds then start mixing it up. Haye would be dropped once or twice while offbalance, byt the effective CPr Potvetkin, but he'd still squeak out a decision since I havent seen Potvetkin stop anyone with Haye's speed or fast attack. This fight would be a smaller version of Wlad UD Peter 1, with Potvetkin earning the cheers, but Haye earning the decision.
great fight haye's most entertaining fights are when opponents come forward and povetkin never stops.
Meanwhile Povetkin shuts the tap off the big mouth... I think Chambers may be a little gun shy after the Wlad KO...so i'm not so sure he could outlast Povetkin in a rematch.
Povetkin got his ass beat by Chambers...then Chambers stopped fighting and Povetkin punched his gloves for 7 rounds...Haye would light Povetkin up and he wouldnt get tired
Hard to pick as Haye is still somewhat of an unknown quantity at HW imo. Also, Atlas has made a lot of changes with Povetkin, he's made him a more thoughtful patient fighter, as appose to the aggressive combination punching activity guy he used to be. So on the one hand you might think that patient approach is going to be a useful stratgey, as he will calculate everything he does, which could help him catch upto Haye without taking too many unnecessary risks, but it could also potentially play into Haye's hands, as he might give him too much time and space if he's not productive enough with the type of patient strategy he employs. Povetkin has improved certain aspects, like he's improved his speed, he's stepping off the line when he attacks, he's thinking about his defense as he rolls foward, but he is still getting hit with punches he should not be getting hit with by lesser opponents imo. I'm thinking Haye but I wouldn't be shocked to see Povetkin beat him, simply because I dont know enough about Haye's credentials against a live HW. I personally think Adamek would have a great shot at beating Haye provided he could survive the early rounds, cause Adamek is a very effective pressure fighter/stalker on the front foot, its just whether his defense would hold up in the early rounds.
