Looks like Maidana will be taking on Morales in April.

So who you think is going to win this one?

Also Miadana and Diaz have parted company!

Here is what was reports on the Scene:

A rep for former three-division champion Erik Morales (51-6, 35KOs) has told members of the Mexican press that a deal was reached to fight hard-hitting junior welterweight contender Marcos Maidana (29-2, 27KOs) on April 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Golden Boy Promotions is handling the card. The fight came about after Juan Manuel Marquez took a pass on fighting Morales in order to concentrate on sorting out his promotional situation with Golden Boy Promotions.
Morales was quoted on the subject as saying - "it's an honor for me to return to Las Vegas ... and what better way to do it than by facing a formidable opponent such as Marcos Maidana."
In other news, reports in Argentina have published quotes that came from Maidana's personal twitter account, in which the fighter annouces that he's going to use a new trainer for the fight on April 9. Maidana has parted ways with veteran trainer Miguel Diaz. He does not reveal at the moment who the next trainer will be. He expects to retain one in the next few days.
"I want to announce that after one and a half years of working of with him, I'll no longer have to Miguel Diaz as chief trainer. We had a great time working together for that period and I've learned some valuable things from him. We thought that we needed to make a change so Miguel and I parted ways on amicable terms of course. You will learn who my next trainer will be in the next few days," Maidana said.

Im going with Maidana Ko :D

    Bad fight.

Morales shouldn't be hanging with the big boys of 140.

I have always been a huge fan of Morales, but this matchup is asking too much of him. His giant ego is causing him to make a huge blunder. Even in his prime this would of been a tall task for him. he is just too small and too old to defeat Maidana. What's Morales's big hurry to sign a fight. He should of waited and maybe Marquez would of eventually came around and if not there are plenty of other fights worth being made at lightweight. He should of got GBP to get him Guererro I am sure Guererro would of loved to fight EM. EM does not belong at 140, Maidana is just too young and too strong for him, just like all the top 8 junior welterweights. Its one thing to believe in your abilities its another to fool yourself into a dangerous fight like this one.

This makes me more upset with Marquez, because that fight should of been made and it would of been a big seller. Marquez who has trouble getting 5000 fans to his last fight would of easily gotten 3 times that much fighting Morales, plus pay-per-view numbers would of been high. Marquez will not find a bigger purse, lower risk, large fan support and lbig name opponent anywhere else. This is just a fool decision by Marquez not to take the fight (just one more of many bad management decisions he has made during his career). If he thinks the trick that worked for Mosley getting the Paq. fight will work for him if he tries it he is wrong. Paqman does not want to fight Marquez again no matter what. He needs to get it through his thick head a 3rd Paq. fight is never going to happen. There are no real mathups for Marquez to make, he is too small to handle the top jr. welters and he does not want to fight Guererro or Soto. Morales would of been a perfect stay busy fight for him. His stubborness is casuing him to make bad choices just because he can't get over Paq.

Does Morales have a death wish? or is he desperate for a fight with Khan?
