This thread has the haters stumped.

Just to point out Hatton was an undefeated 2 division champion when Mayweather beat him and a huge junior welterweight, check out his fight night weights compared to Mayweather's from when he fought Judah or Baldomir if you want to see who was the bigger man in the ring.

The reasons the fight took place at welterweight was because Mayweather had just moved up to 154 to beat the best in the division at the time in De La Hoya, without any of this catchweight bollocks and despite only weighing 148 on the night of the fight, the second reason is because like Cotto Hatton's crew didn't want him anywhere near Floyd at 140 which is why he ended up having to fight Gatti for the title.

While I'm at it I'll point out that Mosley was sat at #3 in the P4P list when Mayweather beat him, he was considered by most to be the man to beat at welterweight and had cracked the chins of both Mayorga and Margarito in his previous fights, it's not as if he was coming off a schooling and drawing with a guy that lost to Vera!

Of course after Mayweather beats them then they instantly become bums, we all know the drill...:good

Floyd is a typical, safety first, modern day American fighter who doesn't take a fight unless he sees something that he can easily exploit...otherwise, he avoids that fighter altogether either by retiring, faking injury, or waiting until someone else with some brass beats them first. He is a coward and is ultimately bad for boxing.

Sounds like Floyd fans when someone tries to give Manny the same type of accolades. All you guys are the same...you sound like little kids. All I have to say is that one fighter here seems to be willing to fight, and one doesn't...proof is in the pudding.

Let me ask you, why didn't Floyd fight Miguel Cotto when there was such a concensus among fight fans...and Margarito...and Casmayor...and Kostya Tszyu...he does have a history of avoiding fighters...this is undeniable...and if you do, you are so far on his nuts, you are a genital wart.

No matter who Pacquiao or Mayweather beat there will be critics and excuses, they have to fight to end this.

Because for what ever reason Floyd hasn't fought the guy that 'popular opinion' says he should when it's most prevalent for quite some time

Whether there are legit reasons or not there are countless opponents the boxing public wanted to see Floyd tackle and he simply didn't. Again, for what ever reasons, these fights never happened when they 'should' have:

    Floyd - Marg (yrs ago)
    Floyd - Cotto (pre Marg-Cotto)
    Floyd - Williams
Floyd - DLH (much earlier - yes Floyd called him out, but once again, for what ever reason, never happened)
Floyd - Mosely (much closer to Marg-Mosely than it happened)

Even as far back as Floyd - Tszyu being a possibility that never happened.

Imagine if Floyd had that resume. There'd be NO discussion of his prowess. Unfortunately, they didn't and it's a common theme now for Floyd not to take on this fan wish list of opponents at a time when the fights seem most relevant. Now looking back on it all, it's hard to ignore the feeling that Floyd couldve done so much more.

And again, not blaming Floyd or anyone. Who knows why these fights didn't happen when they 'should' have. But they didn't and it's starting to matter...

Because before the De La Hoya fight, Floyd wasn't a very big draw...no one but the boxing die hards even knew who he was.

Also, when you have a fighter who talks so much crap about being the greatest of all time...he pretty much brings the onus of proof onto himself. Not on his opponents. That's the only reason why Floyd receives so much crap from people...he brings it on himself.

Floyd was actually the next big draw after ODLH....was it what it is now no...but he was the next big draw....the record breaking numbers with Oscar should tell us that, no? Who else then could have brought those numbers besides Floyd with Oscar?

Now im not saying Floyd did all he could to get these fights...no im not...i am sayin that it takes 2 fighters......like i said outside of Margarito....the other fighters did as much as Floyd did to get the fight...which was nothing....to say he ducked fighters whom themselves aren't even entertaining the fight is not accurate. If Floyd simply mentioning fighters like he has done in past doesnt hold weight, then those who mention Floyd's name should not hold weight unless they have tried like Margarito did there was offers and talks with Arum/Margarito and Floyd.

I can understand people saying he ducked Margo to an extent i can understand people saying he ducked Pac....but other than that the other fighters weren't ducked shyt just didnt happen.

Doesnt matter who he will fight, they wont like it. They said that PBF was "afraid" of Mosley when he was trying to get that fight for years. Then Roach and Pac declined the fight even at a catchweight because Mosley was "too dangerous" and then when PBF fights him spring 2010 then Mosley is "shot and washed up" but now that Pac is fighting Mosley a full year later its a "tough challenging fight" for Pac:nut give me a ****ing break

That is just it, DLH's biggest selling fight was with PBF, not trinidad, mosley, Pac, hopkins, chavez ect all the other names he faced. PBF sold more by far.

Ill have a half of whatever you are drinking .

Hatton a huge Junior welter? he is 5 6 with a very short 65 inch reach. Hatton got the fight because 'he called Floyd out' so did Williams , Margarito , and about another 20 real welters but no he fought the midget who roger said 'couldnt fight for **** at 147'.

The reason it took place at 147 wasnt because he beat the best at 154 , Oscar wasnt the best but the biggest name, then came down , it was because he knew Hatton really struggled with the extra 7 lbs.

Also at 140 the man there was Tszyu , but he didnt want any of that after Tszyu had beheaded Judah and Mitchell , so he fights two greats in Brussels and Gatti. Tszyu had been ready for a long time but Floyd didnt want the fight, Arum knew better.

Mosley was behind on one card and close on the other two against Mayorga , had a great night against a distacted Margarito , but the year out affected a man who is almost 40.

Floyd picks his fights very well and that cannot be a bad thing , but to say he fought the best out there is definately not true.
