Are the HW really that fat and out of shape?

The public's (albeit predominantely the west) discontent with the HW division I believe comes down to two issues. Firstly is the pace of current heavyweight fights. The size of the men fighting often lends itself to fights of a pace, so much slower than other divisions, that viewers are put off by it. Secondly people always associate boxing with heavyweights, and with stardom. Ali, Tyson, Holyfield etc The truly awful post Lewis period with 4 different title holders had a lasting impact on how people view the HW division. I mean come on, did anybody see Valuev Vs Holyfield, that was like a carnival act in a neon blazed ring, and it was for a WORLD title. The division definately declined, and were it not for the Klitschkos would look confusing and pointless today.

There are good fighters out there, many of them don't discipline themselves (Peter, Arreola, Solis) even guys like Chagaev, Povetkin, Chambers look fat.

One final point is David Haye and Tomasz Adamek. Their respective moves to heavyweight and the success they have had, particularly the former, is very revealing of the state of the division. Let's remember Roy Jones Jr came up and beat a prime Ruiz for the WBA title, the same guy who David Haye recently defended his belt against.

Worst HW era was late 80's. Far worse than today.

Klitschkos are the very best, at this time. They are way above the others, and there are many more coming out of Eastern Europe and elsewhere. Cheese burgers and french fries make not so good fighters.

Are you a ****in idiot or do you just live in a hole somewhere?

I mean, this has to be the dumbest statement ever said on ESB.

Guys even more athletic than the Klitschko's are a dime a dozen in the NFL and NBA.

This stupid ass quote should be a Klitschko quote of the week.

Not bad at all. The fights just haven't been materializing enough, and the gap between the Klitschko's and everyone else is large unless Solis and Haye show us something.

At least they're contenders were professional and showed up in shape, I'd take Bruno, Tucker, 88 Holmes and Spinks Over 2006 Byrd, Peter, Arreola and 08 Rahman.
