While it is illegal to hit and hold, it is only illegal if you iniate the clinch. I believe if your opponent iniates the clinch you are free to hit him, so actually that's a legal shot from Lewis as clearly Vitali iniated the clinch after taking a right hand from Lewis.

At least that is what I learnt after a thread where a ref allowed a fighter to hit his opponent while preventing the other fighter who initated the clinch from punching back. I think the ref was Mills Lane, but can't remember the fight.

You obviously didn’t watch boxing at that time and haven’t wasted time to studying era before commenting.

    :rofl

Good to see nothing registered. BrightonBomber gave you a good rundown so you actually see how VK reacted to getting tagged - he clung on and got hit again as Lennox worked inside.

Face facts - VK started strong, looked great early but got caught with great punches and got sliced up repeatedly. No glancing or lucky blow like fanboys suggest but a come from behind slug fest from a great champ at the end of his career and a worthy challenger with a lean back style that got found out.

Would have loved to have seen Wlad come out and match Lennox to avenge his big brothers honour.!:

There's a bit of marking and redness only, but after that dirty shot the claret is pissing out.

Lennox Lewis fighting diry..omg you don't say.

Have any of you guys who whine about the punch actually watch boxing?

I can't hardly recall a fight where a dirty punch or an elbow or a headbutt or whatever, wasn't thrown. It's a tough sport, **** happens, and each fighter has to deal with it. Hell have you ever seen some of Holyfield's opponents, one fighter I believe it was Rahman had an egg size welt on his head due to a headbutt, and Holyfield was known for headbutting. Tyson was known to throw the odd elbow (we'll ignore the bitting incident), Ali, use to hold the head down of some of his opponents..this is boxing guys..**** happens. And if you think what Lewis did to V.K. was dodgy watch what he did to get Grant out of there, now that was brutal.

I enjoyed the rahman ko the most as it was putting right a wrong and showed when an in shape lewis turned up he was leagues above him.

Plus it was a real sensational finish :smoke

I wish that version of lewis had turned up against klit then all there fans would of had nothing to whinge anout as lewis would of won even more comprehnsively :deal
