The beatings Ali took didn't threaten his life directly, that was more of an old champ getting beat pilar to post by his former sparringpartner and a guy who wouldn't seem fit to tie his shoes at his prime.

The sad fact is, there's too many to mention.

It's very rare that a fighter gets out without losing to guys who, at one point, couldn't have carried his gloves.

Ali, Robinson, Leonard, RJJ, Chavez, Tyson, I could go on forever.

Holyfield anyone? He was a warrior who overcame phyiscal limitations through incredible heart, not he uses a small cut as an excuse to quit in a fight where he was on his way to being KO'd by a journeyman.

    Sugar Ray Leonard.

Was an aboslute beast in his prime, beat the likes of Benitez, Duran, Hearns and Hagler then gets stopped by Camacho in the end of his career and retires. Can you imagine what a prime Leonard would of done to Hector?

    Hell yeah.
Its crazy how he can go life and death in the ring yet kill himself.
Its like he fought for his life against many fighters. Won most by heart alone yet he kills himself. What was the point you know?

    Sad.

    RIP Gatti....a true warrior.

Gerald McCellan, Duk Koo Kim, Michael Watson, Billy Collins Jr.

The list is a long one but those are the ones that spring to mind.
