My impression was that his name should be pronounced like "Deckery".

Teddy Atlas doesn't think so. Teddy thinks he's "DEE kah-REEH!"

I hate those kinds of fights for up-and-comers.. because they failed to TKO/KO a guy who was TKO/KO by other guys, but yet they went rounds and out-classed them, but never hurt them or came close to stopping them.. so you leave underwhelmed by whoever the prospect is..

    Round 1

Alvarez starts aggressive, doubling up the right jab and bringing hard left crosses behind it. Decarie is made to retreat and cover up. They clinch and Decarie slaps with his free right hand. Alvarez is bossing him with the right jab; even when Decarie throws his own jab in return Alvarez just explodes through it. Decarie comes forward and lands a pair of hard body shots. Now a hard combo upstairs. Alvarez backs up momentarily but comes right back behind his right jab as Decarie takes his foot off the pedal. They trade lazy jabs, missing. A hard slapping combo around the gloves from either side by a wide-armed Decarie. Alvarez stays calm and keeps poking forward with straight shots, jabs and left crosses. Decarie tries to go to the body and retreats from a southpaw 1-2 brushing his hair back.

    10-9 Alvarez

Yeah, apparently he got up after an 8 count in the 6th and had a decent round in the 7th.

From the reports I'm reading, Chambers is clearly winning however.

    Round 2

Decarie keeps putting wide looping shots together with either hand trying to box Shamone's ears and getting countered up the middle. Alvarez starts losing some handspeed, maybe tiring a bit after setting the pace offensively in the first minute. Decarie starts shooting in with body shots and pecking away. Combos bursting through the guard by Decarie. They clinch up and are called upon to break instantaneously. Alvarez lands a soft 1-2 at the end of Decarie's chin. Decarie drives him back with upjabs and hard right hand drills to the body. Alvarez looks uncomfortable, even when he comes back forward behind his own straight shots (now flicked out a bit reluctantly).

    19-19

Chambers reportedly wins the 9th and is way ahead.
