Someone link me some footage of Zappa please, more so the ones that believe he can beat Murray.

No i am not a Murray fan, purely as i havent seen much of him though the footage i saw of Zappa.....he looked very stiff, the fight where he hits that boy when hes down.

How many fights had Zappa had up until that bout ?

    Thanks :good

PS. When i think of Murray/Zappa i think of Hatton/Rowsell.

Mate Compared to The Cowboy, Zappa is a wrecking ball, not unlike Katsidis.
J ustin was a clever boxer. Zappa fights a lot harder.

I could never condone blatant fouls but sometime "hard" fighters are like aerial dog fighters, they tend to follow their opponents relentlessly which occasionally means that an opponent that fights low against "hard" fighters will sometimes be victim of this.
I wouldn't say it's common, but compared to say, repeat offender Billy Dibb, it's way out of charactor for Zappa. (& hope it stays that way.
    I've not seen Murray fight.

    Cheers

The Rowsell that fought Hatton was more shot than Abraham Lincoln. He was a top little boxer in his day that never got his deserved chance.

    Anyway, here's Lenny's last fight...

Cheers all, wasnt so much thinking of Rowsell etc being of similar ability/style, as said...just sprang to mind, maybe the whole event thing.

Think am getting mixed up with Dibb regarding the punch dished out when the boy was taking a knee ? Apologies :patsch

I should actually use boxrec before posting

He doesn't mess around, that's for sure! Yeah he's a bit of a wrecking ball. Still plenty green IMO.

Aussie and biased.he was dropped by Langham but
came back to dominate.pretty sure both were unbeaten
at the time.Vasquez fight will see where hes at.

Yeah I thought you may have meant Dibb, but IMO Lenny is in a different class.
He has got that quintessential methodical mongrel in him & he just seems to have that knack of getting his distance right which adds power to his punches. I think He can only get better.

IMO the Vazquez fight will be a big test for Zappa....Vazquez can fight and hes quite tall for a lightweight

Zappa may just have the power game to stop Murray

Looking forward to Zappa v Vazquez in a few weeks time along with Murray v Kevin Mitchell as well :good

    It's looking that way Stiffy.

    From East Side's own articles:

John Murray-Kevin Mitchell Clash NOT Happening On April 2nd As Planned

    by James Slater - 14th Feb 2011

In disappointing, exasperating news, it has been reported by a number of sources that the potentially thrilling Kevin Mitchell-John Murray lightweight showdown, looking all set for April 2nd, will not now be happening - at least not on that date. Frustration has set in for all concerned because there has been no official explanation as to why the fight, originally down as the chief support bout to Nathan Cleverly’s challenge of WBO light heavyweight boss Juergen Braehmer, has fallen apart..

On his face book page, a disgruntled Mitchell wrote that the fight is off due to “politics,” meaning of course, boxing politics.
