    I really believe he does.

Pacman fought the best lightwelterweight in ricky hatton. But about 140 he has failed the fight the best in the divisions, namely floyd and martinez.

Now this isn't a debate about ducking. So don't sully the thread.

Assuming by this summer we have pacman successfully defending against mosley and we have adamek upsetting wlad to become the number one heavyweight, will adameks weight jumping surpass pacman's?

Imo, he'll have a place in HOF for sure.

I say he would, he will have beat the recognised number 1 in the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions, it wont happen though.

Come on play along. Assuming he does beat wlad, is he a better weight jumper than pacman?

But if he wins he is ATG top 20.

Adamek won't beat Wlad or Vitali.

His fights with obese Arreola & Old Grant were challenging enough.

Didn't mention vitali because he is no longer prime and i'd favour adamek, haye or solis to beat him.

Wlad is a different matter altogether.

He'll certainly have a legitimate case for it. A former light-heavyweight beating a 240+lbs monster will be an insane achievement. Pity I don't see it happening at all though.

Not close, I don't think. It's much harder for fighters in the lighter weights to jump divisions yet Pacquiao keeps on doing it, beating world class opponents. If Adamek beats Wlad, it will only be because Wlad has huge flaws, rather than Adamek being anything special.

Well i strongly favour Old Vitali over Adamek, Haye & especially Solis.

I just hope Adamek won't get battered too much but knowing him, he'll refuse to go or stay down until he's unconsious.

If he miraculously did beat Wlad though, he'd be a legend for years. Better than Pac in jumping weights? I don't know, but didn't Moorer make it already?

I'd say that Adameks victory over Wladimir would be a bigger accomplishment due to Pacman always having catchweight stipulations in his fights. Where Adamek wouldn't have that benefit and would be fighting Wladimir at his best.

Not in any way simular of course, but it would make him a star if he pulls it of somehow. Give him little chance though, Wlad is a stylistic nightmare for Tomasz. (8 weightclasses against 3, do the math)
Moorer jumped directly to HW, leaving CW what it was. So needless to say he never got a major title in that class.

In saying that, one fight cannot equal what Pacquiao has done.

Same as with Jones-Ruiz, one fight does not equal moving through so many divisions, having so many fights there, and producing so many great performances against naturally bigger men.

No, Adamek would not equal Pac as a weight-jumper with a win over Wlad.

Pacquiao has gone from 112lbs to 154lbs. That jump is unheard of in boxing history and along the way, he's beaten some excellent, ATG fighters, such as Barrera, Morales and Marquez. Great fighters such as Cotto, Hatton, Margarito, Sasakul and then guys like Sanchez, De La Hoya, Clottey, Diaz and so on. What has Adamek done? Nothing remotely close to that.

Adamek jumping up and beating Wlad would be good, but, like I said, you'd have to consider it could only happen if Wlad shows a huge flaw, such as his jaw being exposed once again. Adamek wasn't impressive enough against Arreola, Grant etc., for a Wlad win to be considered great and it would say more about his opposition than his own ability.

What he's done is good but it's not unprecedented and he hasn't beaten anything like the opposition Pacquiao has. He'll go down as one of the great fighters who ever lived, and I'm talking top 15-20, whereas Adamek, even if he beats Wlad, won't be considered top 100 of all-time.
