I have to clarify something here..I was thinking "outside the box"..outside of the forum actually in disparaging lazy, vapid, casual "sports fans"...no one in the classic forum is implied here...though some may go on about Ali more than I would, then so be it...we may disagree about that, but that's just the way it is. Those casual sports fan types who only know a few big names and that's it, are another matter, and are not likely to inhabit a boxing forum, nevermind one as deep as "classic". So no offense to anyone who may have been insulted by my post.

I'm just saying that there's no reason to insult the casual fan as they're what keeps the sport alive. You can't expect every person to take the time and the effort to find about the sport they're watching, and I can respect that.

 

Yeah I forgot about Greb being mentioned in every other thread. I learnt a lot from reading all those posts so I don't mind too much

Incessant heavyweight banter is nothing new to Classic. And, as Ali is one of precious few fighters to cross over into the mainstream, it stands to reason that people want to discuss him more than most.
