Do people really think that Duran was "shot to s**t" vs Barkley?!

Close to it. He looked awful in the third Leonard fight but he was there for a paycheck only. I heard he looked good in the Pazienza 1(not sure about 2), Camacho 1(robbery), and Castro 2(not sure about 1) fights but I will look at those fights before considering him shot. I looked at a bit of clips and it's amazing how he still had decent head movement and fundamentals at such an advancing age though he did maul. I really don't know when Duran was first considered shot but I will say that shot fighters can still have good/great performances against good/great fighters(Ali-Shavers and Ali-Norton 3 for example). Just because he won doesn't mean he wasn't shot but I think he was well past his prime(prime @ LW).

That fight does not mean Duran beat Hearns. Head to head great matchups are what matters. Duran lost to all the greats. I am not making it, look up the record. Barkley is not great. That is why his win over Hearns was so surprising. Barkley lost to Kalambay, then Nunn then Benn in one round. Had Hearns not become careless, Barkley would have lost by 4th round knockout by bodypunch. And it was coming. Barkley could hardly stand. Duran's weakness in ATG ranking is beating ATG fighters.. He fought them all, but he didn't beat them.

funny thing is you are using my youtube videos to make your points. Look at the username on the youtube account that video comes from? I put several up many years ago. I am glad my videos are viewed and looked at. I might not have posted them had I thought they would be used against me. But really I am glad people use them for something. I thought it was part of history regardless of Tommy losing. Buy obviously I know the fights well since they are my videos.
About Roberto, fact is Duran lost to all the greats and he didn't beat Ray up and Ray fought his fight. Then Ray said himself all he did was adjust and move and it was an easy fight. You cannot change history. I think Barkley was a good fighter, but not great. You cannot say a win over Barkley is great for Duran. A year before Kalambay beat Barkley easily, then a months after Duran -Nunn beat him easily and then Benn a year later. Using Barkley to prove anything doesnt really make a big point. head to head Tommy beat the greats Benitez and Duran. He outboxed Benitez who outboxed Duran and he stopped Roberto.
