Had Mayweather retired after Hatton fight when the likes of:-

Cotto, Margarito, Paul Williams, Berto, Cintron, Clottey, Mosley.... were still around his weight class then that would have been one cowardly career ending.

Or when Lennox Lewis didnt want to rematch Vitali Klitschko but stayed around for about 9 months to choose to retire then putting up a 50 mil price tag.

But to me it has to be Joe Calzaghe as usual.

He ran away when his career started to get some recognition and momentum but fighters around his weight class were becoming the likes of

Hopkins II, Pavlik, Dawson, Pascal, Froch, Ward, Dirrell, Tarver, Johnson, Abraham, Green, Taylor, Cloud, Erdei.....

I dont think there has ever been a bigger ***** ending to a career than that. If anyone thinks otherwise please elaborate.

    1 minute man.

Whats Floyd rap song, crips and bloods and people claiming to be G's got to do with coward endings?

Who has a bigger coward ending than Calzaghe thats the question in short?

man i hate when ppl talk about Clottey, Williams, Cintron etc...those people are not great fighters, they are average at best...its like if Vlad retires, are people gonna say he ducked Solis, Dimitrenko, Potveikin, etc....NO

Clottey Willams and Cintron were either former, current or future champions.

Floyd didnt want it and retired and then came back and said:-

"they are all beating each other up, but they dont beat me"

Solis, Dimitrenko and Povetkin are not former or current champions.

if david haye doesn't fight klitschko and retires in october like hes planning, then u can put him right up there with calzaghe as far as i'm concerned.

    wtf is wrong with you?!

Calzaghe fought over 20 years unbeaten after 46 fights two weight world champion record title defences...

yea he didnt always fight the best of the best. yea he was a bit over hyped. But you can say the same about nearly EVERY fighter!

How the hell can you compare that to HAYE?!

Calzaghe's ending was a shame. Like you say, just when he was getting attention, he decides to fight a shot-to-**** Roy Jones and call it a day.

    Tyson.

Quitting: boxing fans can't stomach it though I don't blame him.

Unless of course we give him a free pass.

Of course, his quit job against Holy is probably the worst in history.
