He is 34 years old. He lost in the first round of a tournament. His career is in decline.

Honestly he looked good up until the fight went to the ground. But lets be honest, the other fighter was just too big, probably the biggest or one of the biggest in MMA. If Fedor can't beat him, he probably wouldn't be able to beat Overreem.

Alright, which part did he look good in standing up? Was it when he was getting pushed up against the cage or when his head was getting tossed back with a right hand?

Even if Fedor does retire, he's still the greatest MMA fighter I have ever seen. Props to Silva for the win.

    Devastating.

It's not size, he just doesn't quite have it anymore.

The Reem will walk it now IMO, though I'm rooting for Barnett :happy

Overeem will lose...either against Barnett or Werdum or Kharitonov. But he will not win this GP imo

He was out striking the other guy, but honestly I think it was size.

He punched the guy and usually his punches would knock a guy down or knock a guy out, but in this case the guy just walked through them.

    Very heavy and very tall....
Kharitonov owned him the worst though... (fedor did beat the guy too)

(heavier than antonio silva and knows how to submit too...and has the best striking)

No offense, but I saw no outstriking coming from Fedor. I saw him winging his punches and landing very little, not even coming off the better man in close fire exchanges, and outside of that he either had his back to the cage or took some big shots, the right hand in particular that bounced his head back was a knockout blow.

He hasn't looked great for like two years now and is noticeably slower.

Different kind of fighter, different kind of fight. Silva is a master of brazillian juijitsu.

Silva also has an excellent chin and huge fists.
