He looked like the mediocre SMW fighter that he is. No wonder he wants to starve himself down to 160 instead of fighting guys his own size

Forget AA, let's talk about his opponent, I want to see more of that guy. He seemed like an entertaining fighter. He throws punches, likes to go the body.

I watched the fight live and then I rewatched in youtube. Abraham look as usual. He did not improve and he's the same as ever. He needs to completely change his style. He has to stop leaning on the ropes. He has to leave his trainer and get a good American trainer that will teach him inside fighting.

At least you got to watch it live. How long was the drive from Brussels to the fight scene.

:good Except maybe the American trainer part, I agree with this.

He always starts slow and looks like this. Someone needs to teach him to shorten up those damn punches. Maybe learn how to use a real jab. He just squares up and throws his 30 punches per round, all of which are winging powerpunches.

I think Abraham also wanted to get more rounds under his belt. He was on the defensive when the fight was stopped. Too bad some freak accident happened like that.

He was on the defensive because Bozic was completely unafraid and took the fight to him (and even ate a couple of shots without flinching).

This isn't a win under great circumstances, but at least it's a win. It could have been worse. Imagine if he'd lost, what that would do to his career? :scaredas: That wasn't looking as unthinkable as everybody had assumed by the point it was stopped.

Simply starting faster and now mixing in body punches isn't enough. Abraham still has too many deficiencies that top boxers could exploit. He needs a complete stylistic overhaul if he wants to get back to the upper echelon and succeed.

I thought Abraham was busting up that dude with some sick bodyshots, and he was on his way out sooner rather than later.

I don't know what you guys were watching. Abraham was killing his body.

just rewatch the last 20 seconds leading up to the broken hand

Sick body shots, really? I saw some amateurish underhand lobs that bounced off Bozic's side...and Bozic was replying with his own body shots as well.

Abraham has never been a huge Mexican-style body puncher...and he isn't one now, based on the little we saw there. Big learning curve, and Abe doesn't exactly strike me as having a great student mentality.

He tried to be more active, which while I'm not sure if it would help him vs the top SMWs, at least it made for a better fight.
If Abraham had much better footwork and... even a mediocre inside game, he'd be a genuine contender. As it stands, the only way I feel he can trouble top dudes is if he... just goes for broke. I mean really goes for broke. He didn't do that vs Froch. He is by far the hardest puncher in the division, so maybe he should utilize that more.

Oh please people don't act like Bozic had a chance. I was rooting for him but he was so open it was a KO waiting to happen. Arthur just wanted to give the public a few rounds before knocking him out. As it turned out Bozic took himself out. Don't get me wrong, I am not optimistic regarding Abraham. Foreman once said that guys in silky pajamas can fight, well Arthur can't...
