Undercard for khan-mccloskey?

Alot of ppl didn't beleive me when I suggested that Khan would fight MAB

but I do think the Maidana fight is now Khan's career defining fight

That was the genius of the matching so to speak because when Khan was made all people were thinking was that 18 months ago this guy was sharing a ring with Marquez and Pac.. it looked a dangerous fight. People thought he could win.

The reality was that those two bouts and that 18 months had taken an enormous toll, any promoter or trainer who saw the Ventura fight would have seen a golden opportunity for any up and coming lightweight, because the fact he was so shot wasn't really publicy known. You could see this through the amount of people who were backing MAB to beat him, the amount of money being put on MAB which resulted in the odds being almost even

 

I don't even think Bradley vs Khan will make much of a stir over here either.

After Bradley, assuming he loses, there might be some high profile fights with some of the up and coming British boxers in a couple of years or so

Cos Khan's lot couldn't run a **** up in a brewery they needed an established promoter to work with for the show as GBP wasn't fully involved i think.

Maloney wanted in on it but they chose Hatton.

 

Officially they are co-promoting with Golden Boy and Khan, which means that they are promoting.

 

Thank **** they didn't choose Maloney it would have ended up at the Barnsley Metrodome with an undercard consisting of David Price versus 300lb+ mammoth, McDonnell versus the tough Swiss Champion and Tony Jeffries taking on the always dangerous TBA.
