Can somebody post the show from last night. The Jimmy Tibbs stuff was fantastic. Sorry for the late post but I've been at Gary Mason's funeral. Adios
Going to listen to this tomorrow:good http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p00ddjz0/The_BBC_London_Boxing_Hour_10_02_2011/
Staggering funeral. A gut wrencher. Lennox flew in, Frank Bruno was there and dozens and dozens of others. Horace Notice, Adrian Elliot, Sweet D Williams, Bobby Wells, Julius Francis, Sammy Reeson, Derek Angol, Harry Cowap, Tony Wilson, Michael Watson, James Cook, Alan Minter, Spencer Fearon, Lloyd Honeyghan, Derek Grainger, Roy Callaghan, Robert Smith, Ross Minter, Tony Adams, Clinton McKenzie, Ed Robinson, Billy Schwer, Ray Fallone, Mo Hussain, Matt Brown, Colin McMilllan, Francis Ampofo and Charlie Magri. There were more, apologies for missing anybody. Feel free to add names. Adios.
Dennis Andries, Chris Sanigar, Allan Gray, Frank Maloney, Eric Guy, Winston Spencer (now Kofi), Gary Norman, Steve Lillis, Mick Costello, Ron McIntosh, Matt Christie.... I've got to say that Buncey hit exactly the right note when he talked at the funeral. There was much more laughter than tears. It all left me wishing I'd known Gary better when he was alive. There was so much love in that big church.
Thanks Thanks Buncey and Ed for keeping us posted, met Gary a few times, a real decent guy. If you think back Terry Lawless had three fantastic heavyweights in Bruno, Mason and Notice all in the same stable, people used to maon about the British Heavyweights then but what we woudl give to have three just like that now!
That turnout was massive and shows how many people big Gary impacted in his life. Thanks for posting it guys
Eric Guy has got excellent photos up on his Facebook page including a few good ones of you making your speech in the Church.
