willie limond deserving or not?

    after another one of billy nelson's rants about how willie should get a title fight against lee mcallister, willie never gets a shot and willie could beat any lightweight in britain blah blah blah. is he really deserving of a title shot or not?

    it is my thinking that there are two ways to get your shot,

    1. keep busy winning fights and force yourself into a position that the BBBofC have no option but to make you mandatory.

    2. have a good manager/promoter that has the contacts and the power to get you a shot at a title even when you maybe not the most deserving boxer.

    on the first point him fighting morales, khan and arthur doesn't mean he should automatically get a shot and he is nowhere near active enough to force his hand.

    on the second i'm not sure who his manager os promoter is but they either don't believe in him that much or don't have the know how to get him the big fights that (he believes) he deserves.

    i for one would like to see him forget about the supposed lack of chances and just get back to fighting and forcing the chance to fight for a title. then if he is as good as billy says then it shouldn't be long before he gets a chance at someone.

    maybe i have got this wrong but i think he is looking for a shot on his big fights in the past against morales, arthur and khan, both of which he lost.

    i'd like to hear the opinions of other fight fans on this subject to see what the general thoughts on willies career of late and if he really has done enough to feel aggrieved he gets overlooked.

    I rate him highly. He's an excellent fighter who hasn't had the chances his talent deserves.

    i don't doubt his talent but that it has been mis managed by himself and his team.

    but has he done enough of late to force a shot? that what i was wanting to know mate

    i know willie limond very well i think he more than deserves a shot at a title... but am gonna say that :lol: in my opinion there has been others that have had a title shot that willie would not have been out of place fighting for. lee mccallister hasnt defended his commonwealth in over a year?? whats going on there? john watson got two shots in a row. am not knocking any of the above fighters just for examples. but its upto alex morrison (his manager) to get willie fights which hasnt happened in a long time. limond career has been start-stop... cant understand why he doesnt get fights never mind title fights!

    i really think that is the problem, he doesn't fight nearly enough to keep himself in the public eye.

    i agree with you to an extent mate although your saying he got the wbu and did nothing with it? true but its not upto him thats for his manager to do. same happened with the commonwealth won it and was inactive for 8months until the khan fight. willie always keeps ticking over so a dont know were your gettin that he never saw a gym last year? hes back in full training tomorrow meant to be fighting in april. also i hope billy nelson would stop biting to every piece of bait on these forums regarding willie limond :good

    Its a bit hard rammie when people **** you write off cause they think or claim to know everthing about boxing n wot papers print.willie is well over due a title fight i know it you know it end of!!!!!

    yeah i know mate cant ever remember willie in the papers bleeding poverty either. ive seen what willie is capable of just hope theres one more chapter left to prove all these mugs wrong if not then boxing isnt everything
