It won't be down to Khan or Reebok for that matter if he has to wear a different kid of gloves. If the gloves don't meet the criteria, like they did for the Maidana fight, then I dare say the next available set have to be worn and are the proper size.
Yeah I get that. But let's assume the gloves do meet the criteria, but Khan just doesn't like the feel of them. Does his contract involve him having to wear their gloves for the remainder of his sponsor-deal? Would the most he'll be able to do is get Reebok to change the design? Or would Reebok say "It's cool, you can wear whichever brand you like".
I'm sure after the weigh in both camps go to a table which have numerous pairs of gloves on them, usually the champion goes 1st, and tries them all on to get a pair that he feels comfortable with and chooses them. Didn't another poster say it was ok for him to wear other gloves?
They look a lot firmer aswell. Amir wears the Reebok's to keep the Sponsor's happy, otherwise there's no other reason to wear them, and I guess he likes the fact that no other Boxer wears them.
Yeah I was just under the impression that, being with Reebok, Khan was obligated to wear their gloves. I mean, hes always preferred the Everlast ones, but doesnt wear them. He only did so against Maidana because he, conveniently, wasnt allowed to wear the Reebok ones.
I always presumed he liked them. I noticed it marks up opponents really quickly and he seemed to use them to good effect defensively when under Roach. Tbh they don't half look ****.....look like cheap plastic kids gloves. Give me Cleto Reyes!!! Gloves of Warriors!!!!!!
Reebok ****ed up last time as well how much over weight were the gloves?? ****ing appalling. Everlast are far better.
This 17 stone bloke down our gym insists on wearing their 10OZ for sparring. I give him the choice now of putting 14's on or I join him wearing tens. Last couple times he has of times he's opted for 14's!!!
I wear 8oz Everlast gloves and agree they are excellent, haven't tried the Reyes one's. I haven't read anywhere how much over the requirement the Reebok gloves were, but I'm assuming the fight was contracted to take place with 8oz gloves.

Yeah i think they were a oz or two over. Cleto's are my fav to watch fights in although heard they have hardly any protection on hands (Mr Bellew thoughts). Everlast look the perfect box-fighter glove and look the all round glove.
