Heard Tony Dodson beat Edwards & Banbula, but didn't hear who won the tournament.

....probably a matter of who really cares I'm guessing Josey?

Conny i was in London on Saturday but i wouldn't visit that sour faced old hag if she lived next door ,prior to that i was up in the land of the Jock for a week or so working ,

CHB i really enjoyed the tourny Dodson was unlucky and would probably have won it but was ruled out of the final on a cut . entertaining stuff but poorly run , RULEs WISE .

Good to hear from you old pal. It was soon to be search party stuff looking for ya!

What's the big scraps coming up your way? Khan found an opponent yet for April? I see Warren's feeding Burns another patsy in March. What about his comments the other day rating Burns better than Scott Harrison? Geez I know Frank's a genius promoter, but please, that's so far wide of the mark it's not funny!

Be very ****ing Picadilly up there at the moment wouldn't it!

lol Thanks Conny , Burns needs to keep busy and cash in on his recent rise i know what you are saying but Warren ain't a fool he will step Burnsy up again when its right, i personally wouldn't rate Burnsy over Scotty just a bit of bullshitting up on Warrens part i reckon , and belive it or not Scotland was in better shape weather wise than South Wales last week , i had a great week up there with the Scottish brethren .

Apparently on the 4th & 5th Feb at O'Shanley's Irish Hotel And Restaurant, Clifton, Queensland.

For anyone that thinks tent boxing is just about fighting drunks. Here's a phone number for the pub - Ph: 07 4697 3288.

TIME TO PUT UP OR SHUT UP!

Queensland hey, well he's too modest to brag about his awesome fightinng ability himself but Teke reckons he
could stand on a hanky with a schooner on his head and
flog the **** out of Brophy's boys 1 by 1 not moving off
the hanky and not spilling a drop of beer.:deal
ring Fred and tell him to PM Teke.

...well he could be the next Shaun Daley anyway Leon:

Brophy's boxing tent to visit town

by Anthea Gleeson - The Chronicle - 4th Feb 2011

CLIFTON fencer Shaun Daley will trade his tools for boxing gloves this weekend when Fred Brophy’s boxing tent visits town.

While he doesn’t consider himself to be a boxer, Mr Daley is keen to pit his skills against a renowned Brophy boxer.

“I have seen what goes on in the tent,” Mr Daley said.

“And when I heard it was coming to Clifton, I thought: ‘Why not?’.”

The iconic boxing tent tours the nation with a troupe of boxers, inviting locals to test out their skills in the ring.

The tent is the last boxing tent in Australia, and believed to be the last one of its kind in the world.

The last time Fred Brophy visited Clifton was “30-odd years ago” and the region was in the grip of a severe drought.

“I remember I banged the drum and the heavens opened up,” Mr Brophy said.

He hopes his drums don’t have the same effect this time around on the rain-sodden region.

“Let’s hope sun shines on us this time,” Mr Brophy said.

Mr Brophy, who was presented with an Order of Australia medal this year for his service to the entertainment industry and the Birdsville community, expects the Clifton event will attract plenty of talent.

“It is the first one of the year and it’s on the Darling Downs,” Mr Brophy said. “I expect it is going to be pretty tough on our boxers.

“Clifton is pretty close to Brisbane. I would expect quite a number of guys from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Warwick gyms to show up. It’s going to be tough going for us.”

The Fred Brophy boxing tent is sent up in the grounds of O’Shanley’s Irish Bar and Restaurant.

Shows will be held tonight and tomorrow night from 7.30pm.

Just got around the watching part 2 of this series. Really enjoyed watching it, bit of a cop out with Fred not retiring

Not sure of my thoughts on the whole tent boxing thing, its entertaining for sure especailly for people in the middle of woop woop with not much other choice for entertainment

If someone tried to do this in the big city, going from rec centre to rec centre, how do you think that would go down ?
