I have learnt to never believe a word that comes out of Bob Arum's fat mouth.

    this is IDIOTIC.

we all know pac can easily easily easily make 140. EASY.

so if the fight takes place its got to be at 140

    i didn't prove your point

my point being that contrary to what people say 6000 calories is an advantage for pac not a disadvantage, he gets more energy/nutrients, he trains harder and fights better.

No it isn't. So you're telling me you believed in the whole late night deadline and conference call, in which he started promoting the Margarito bout?

I'm not talking about the negotiations, but it was pretty clear that Mayweather was not going to be forced into answering to Arum. Arum knew this, this is why he put up that bull**** deadline...at that point (from the very little he knew about the negotiations) he already knew the Mayweather bout wasn't happening...which is why he threw in Margarito's name as much as possible.

I agree, Pac should fight JMM at 140, which means that Pac had a disadvantage when he beat Oscar, Cotto, Margo, Clottey and next Mosley.. Which makes his wins even better.

You can't say Pac should fight JMM at 140 and not give him extra props for his wins above 140. He's been fighting all these guys at a huge disadvantage.

but really, JMM has proven nothing at 140. Pac shouldn't fight JMM until JMM does something above 135

pac is campaigning at 147 but he is a small welter. his best weight will be around 144-145 where he always weigh in his fights at welter. even when he fought at JMW, he fought as a welter.

i think it's hard for you to grasp my point simply because you cannot think. pac and jmm would be the same size come fight night wether this fight is held at 140, 147 or 154. so there's really no issue here which weight they will fight on.

Everybody and their brother has said that they want Pac to fight Marquez again, to "settle" the matter of who is better between the two after feeling like JMM may have gotten robbed twice against Pac.

Seems to make sense, then, that this fight would be a natural to make.

I wonder if they'll fight this one, if it gets made, in Singapore or wherever. Weren't they talking about fighting in Singapore for Pacquiao?

With regards to Mayweather, that fight is probably never going to get made. In the past, Floyd didn't want it made. He probably still doesn't want it made. And now Arum is likely with Floyd in not wanting to make the fight, either. Arum knows he and Pacquiao have the upper hand in the public's mind as to being the #1 fighter and attraction in the sport and I doubt that Arum would be willing to give that up and give Mayweather a chance to get that spot back.

The meeting at Cowboys Stadium was great and all, at the Super Bowl, between Mayweather and Arum. I doubt it changes much, though. Right now, Mayweather needs Arum and Pacquiao. They don't need Floyd. The potential Marquez fight is a perfect example of this: There are still other fights that the boxing public cares about with Pacquiao that don't involve Mayweather.

Can the same be said of Mayweather? Who do fans want to see him fight besides Pacquiao? I can't think of anyone.

Arum and Mayweather both know that, which means that Arum and Pacquiao have more leverage than does Mayweather. Given all that happened in the past, involving Arum, Pacquiao and Mayweather, my guess is that Arum is just going to let Mayweather dangle in the wind while Pacquiao continues to fight other guys and build up his rep in the sport and with the public.

All that Mayweather seems to have now is an opportunity to try to glom on to Pacquiao's public relations machine. Floyd is trying to use the Mosley-Pacquiao build-up to help himself get some attention, but it just helps bring fans' attention back to the reality that Pacquiao is fighting, Floyd is not and Floyd still -- for whatever reason -- can't seem to get himself matched up with Pacquiao while guys like Mosley can.

In the end, that kind of attention isn't going to do Mayweather a lot of good.

    Yes you did.

I have read reports of pac eating 7,500 calories a day, even heard accounts of pac struggling to do it, he weighed 144 for margo and that was still using the same nutrients.

Pac eating 7,500 calories making 144 lbs - pac eating 4,500 weighing 140 lbs easy.

    Class is over son.

why would arum need floyd to promote the fight? floyd is not so famous as for his fans to watch a pac fight and route for pac to lose.

and arum knew that floyd won't be forced to a fight that's why he made the deadline? floyd has every chance to make the fight when according to leaked delahoya interview, that the "negotiations" are going very well and are close to be finalized until floyd decided to take a vacation.

Stop being a nugget, there is a difference to pac weighing in at 145, as opposed to JMM eating their way up to 145.

    thats not what i meant

i meant pac eating 7000 calories is beneficial for him.

he can train harder eating 7000 calories than he can with 4000, harder to consume or not.

So you think it would be fair if Pac and JMM fought at 140?

Well how many fights has pac drained opponents?

I do think it is fair.

especially when fighting a now old fighter who should have at least one loss too.
