Resto i could kind of feel sorry for. HE went around and asked for apologies along with admitting it. His life is so crappy right now that i believe he already has paid his dues. Panama Lewis should burn in hell. So should Collins father. I believe ultimately it was his greed that killed his son. He was cleared to fight and could have continued. His dad just wanted to cash out big with the lawsuit so he didnt wanna risk it.
He wanted to fight but his dad wouldn't let him. So he got drunk and drove off a cliff. I've seen it happen a million times.....:-(
collins didn't suffer any permanent damage? :? the man suffered a torn iris and permanently blurred vision..resto ended the man's career with that beating
i find it a bit strange so many want to condemn billy collins sr.... its almost like hearing the guy in the david tua thread say that tua is dumb because hes suing his ex manager, who stole millions from him, and its costing him more money to take him to court the documentary definitley played up the whole fighting thing as a way out of poverty for the family....but its easy to judge collins sr. from the sidelines....but he literally watched his son get battered....was in his corner while he was sitting on his stool and could barely open his eyes and said "this guy is alot stronger than i thought"......hes the man who actually grabbed restos gloves weve seen what happened to cotto....and heard the arguments about whether or not that fight ruined cotto to a degree....whos to say that fight wouldnt have ruined collins had he fought again....whether or not he was a real legit prospect...the luster of the unbeaten prospect was gone...and he couldnt get it back.......youd actually think the collins family would have a real solid case(and im sure collins sr was advised that he had a good case against some of the parties).....im sure money was a motivating factor...but i dont know if it was the end all of his motives....that was his son...and his son was the victim of a vicious crime....
Typical pussified American way of thinking. It is very well documented he was cleared to fight. Doctors said he was ok to fight. It sounded like he still wanted to fight. His dad is just the one that didnt want to lose that lawsuit making his son go crazy since he couldnt do the thing he loved. And to be honest with you if he did commit suicide then its his fault. I dont feel sorry for anyone that does. Its just the easy way out.
After watching the documentary-assault in the ring...panama lewis is still trainning fighters, but not allowed in the ring and he's barred from working the corner of any fighters............after the crime that occured, you guys think he should still be working with boxers or banned for life?..............................imo by the answers he gave and the cockiness he went about,i think the man has still not shown no remorse...
