Bottom line, he is for me.

Forget the politics. ONLY what he brings in the ring.

I'd prefer him to have better defence and not be willing to engage in a war so easily. If this was the case, then he'd be fighting on for another 3/4 years. I'd also like for him not to be so compliant towards Arum and the fights he picks for him.

But other than that, he ticks all the boxes for me.

not quite because a fighter really shouldn't let a promoter control him the way arum does, and he could be taking on better challenges now, but he is the closest thing to the real deal we have in today's game. love him in the ring.

My perfect imagine of a fighter is Cotto. Fights anyone at anytime. Might not be perfect or the best but he has a fighter heart and never gives up. Cotto is the man.

    Plus hes PR! ;)

Wasn't talking so much 'bout technique, but if he met your criteria of what a professional fighting man should be.

"Ticks all the boxes" for me, as well, UR.

I would love to see him with better defense and inside game but generally I like him in the ring.

Regarding Arum, at the end of the day he has fought pretty much everyone he can. Yeah you can say JMM 3, Berto, etc but those are nitpicks than actual legit ducks. At this point he is running out of opponents and ANY ONE he fights short of PBF is going to be criticized. If he fights JMM people will say he should have fought Berto and JMM is old, shot and above 135. If he fought Berto, he should have fought JMM, and Berto is green and unproven.
Rinse and repeat for anyone else in WW or below.

Like PBF, he has very few fights left in them. Might as well enjoy it instead of bitching about everything and anything like a woman bleeding.

Oh I see. Then I can only complain about his relationship with Arum. A man of his status should take a more active role in the opponents he chooses. But even then, it's minor. He's only required to fight Mayweather now.

I don't think his fighting style has anything to do with how long he's going to fight. Manny Pacquiao has become a politician in his home country. I'm positive that if he had lost as a congressman, he'd fight for a long time.

In my opinion, his defense is way underrated not to mention that if he really wants to fight as an out boxer he can, but he understands that most boxing fans want action and want to see blood.

If you have watched his previous fights you'll see that Manny has slown down and focusing on his defense just because his opponent is bigger.

Inside the ring, yes, both he & Mayweather are a pleasure to watch, they are on a different level altogether.

I liked fighters who fight the best. Not Pac.
