Not to mention including his fights at 140 with Corley and bullet-riddled Gatti. Real record stuffers there.

    tough call

at 135 and healthy hands floyd could really hit he was also extremely fast

Duran was at his best here in what was a legendary career

now who had durans number? leonard

is floyd much different a fighter, not really

i think its possible to see floyd move and pot shot and taunt and see if duran pulls a no mas out of frustration or just lets hi temper get the best of him

or duran cuts off the ring lands big shots turns it into a brawl and wins

Floyd's offense is simply not dynamic enough to do anything to Duran. Great counters will hurt any fighter, but if there is any fighter to truly walk through shots (or just avoid them) to **** on the inside, it is Manos de Piedra.

Lets be real, Duran simply has too much.

Duran by late KO. Duran's just too strong for him there.

Duran trounces Mayweather at any weight.

Floyd wins, Duran's great a legend- but Floyd at light weight dips under and roles away from Duran in the corner, jabbing and moving using speed boxing in the center. Even when the fight goes inside Floyd has enough skill to hold his own. Floyd at Lw had more then respectable power. Quick fast footed fighters with hand speed, and defensive chops beat Duran. Floyd had the style to beat Duran and frustrate him.

actually he doesn't. Not if a guy moves and has speed, then Duran looks very ordinary. But there are not many greats who have speed, so he could dominate lesser guys and have excuses when he lost to the fast greats.

I am not a great Mayweather fan, but his style and the fact he would be the best guy Duran ever fought at 135 makes this fight much harder to predict than people think. Duran never did well when a guy used speed and moved. The facts are there, but people do not want to see them. A sort of denial when it comes to Duran. But several fights show this.
Look up Leonard fight two and three. Hearns and Benitez. All outclassings of Duran. And the excuse always was that he was too small or old. He was 29 when he lost to Ray and 30 Wilfred and 32 Hearns. Duran fought until he was 50, and also fought a t 154 pounds before Hearns,Leonard or Benitez ever did.
If Floyd used his speed he wins an easy enough 12 or 15 round decision and starts to have fun in the fight like Leonard did doing bolos and all that. I was a big fan of Duran moving up to Welt. But after seeing how he could not deal with the speed of a fighter who knew how to stick to a gameplan, I knew his achilles heel was found. Speed. He didn't just lose to Leonard,Hearns,Benitez in close fights, he was completely taken out of his fight and lost decisively. Mayweather would do that same, as would Whitaker. I am not saying Mayweather is greater than Duran, he was not. Duran had a bigger career and faced all the ATGs he could. he just didn't beat them. But head to head Mayweather had the thing which was Duran's achilles heel. Speed.

the amazing thing is if he knocked out Mayweather, that would have been the first guy who was ATG in the rankings that Duran knocked out. He never knocked out an ATG fighter.

I take it you're not a fan of Estaban De Jesus. I thought he was a damn good fighter might want to watch him if you get a chance.

We all know you have a hate on for Duran, but honestly have you ever seen Floyd go into the trenches with anyone?

Duran would be pasted onto Floyd's chest and he would make it a brutal war, and this is exactly the type of fight Floyd's avoided his whole career. Floyd just flat out doesn't like to get hit, nobody does, but Duran certainly it willing to trade with anyone, and one of the reasons he almost always comes out on top, isn't only because he enjoys it, he also brings some serious power and the ability to avoid getting hit to the table. Duran's defense is usually underrated in these type of match ups. The only chance Floyd has is if he can stay in the middle of the ring and stick and move. Even that's not really Floyd's game, as he's more of a counterpuncher..just can't see him lasting the whole fight with Duran, without getting hurt somewhere along the line.
