no doubt they both want it but will have to see if Fwank wants any part of this. going on Burns opponents in his first two defenses they arent in a hurry to put him in with anyone remotely decent.
Burns wants this fight, even after he beat Martinez, looking at the rankings Fana is the fight he needs, another big performance and no doubt he will pull it out. if he wins the IBF & Ring titles then maybe a final fight at 130 against Uchiyama to add the WBA title.
Uchiyama wouldnt make sense. the Japanese commision dont recognose the IBF or WBO so it wouldnt be a unfication fight. better off fighting anyone who manages to beat Uchiyama or Aoh.
if Burns has the IBF, WBO and Ring he can lure up a Chris John, Juanma Lopez or Gamboa and earn some big money.
The Japanese do things properly though, to an extent. They only recognise the two origional 'world' titles, if other countries went by that logic, unifications would actually mean something.
I understand that, but given the current situation we really need 1) one body (never happen) or 2) a fighter cleaning up all the titles. Very seldom does it happen.
:conf I'm at the point where I dont care about belts anymore. A Burns-Uchiyama fight would be significant in that it proves who the divisions best is, what belts they own is irrelavant to me. I mean, Gilberto Keb Baas is a 'world' champion for christ sake. That really puts things into perspective.
They don't. Takayama's challenge of Joyi's IBF belt was a one off. If he had won that fight, he wouldn't have been allowed to defend the belt in Japan.
