Gotta love Mike. He really knows his stuff the guy lives, sleeps, and breathes boxing. I give Haye a minimal chance against Vitali and no chance against Wlad.

    No way!

People using size difference as a reason for Vitali to win?

If Willard had to bend down to reach Dempsey.....explain to me how in the hell Vitali would be able to reach Langford? Langfords midsection is out of the equation.

Vitali would be a walking tree waiting to be chopped down. If Langford was a foot taller, I would give Vitali the nod.

But being bigger than your opponent has it's limits. At a certain point it works against you. There couldnt be a more perfect example of that, than the hard hitting Langford vs a very tall Klitschko.

I don't think Langford was "shot" at all for Fulton. I don't think the evidence is there, at all. In fact he's described as fast and sharp in countering Fulton's right. He just had no response to the jab.

Was he prime? No. He was out of shape. As has been pointed out he still did well against the very best opposition he fought.

LOL, " If Langford were a foot taller I would give Vitali the nod ". Not sure if you are for real or being sarcastic? It sounds like you are for real. Its a good thing Vitali doesn't have to men 5'7" tall.

    NOT.

Langford because he's tough and can punch has a chance, but outside of the proverbial punchers chance ( which would be limited vs an man who has never been floored by a punch in 40+ fights ), this is a mismatch.

Statements like this show the pure ignorance on this poster's part. Probably a kid. 10-12. Johnson a ham and egger! Wow, **** like this is what drove the knowledgable posters away. Wow!:wall

    He is not ignorant.

He is just frustrated that most posters here don't see things his way.

    He dosn't realy think that.

He is just anoyed that we pick him over subsequent fighters who he regards as superior.

The way I see it Langford's huge technical advantage would more than offset the size advantage. Vitali is a good fighter and is gifted athletically and physically but still robotic. Langford would use his skill sets to draw Vitali out of position. He would use Vitali's awkwardness against him to keep him off balance. I think Langford KOs the giant.

i think the pendulum is swinging the other way.

is langford more proven against quality heavies? check
is langford capable of beating vitali? check
is it likely he KOs vitali? Not so much

DESPITE langford's brilliance, he still had some trouble with quality heavies even in his prime. i understand the argument that he carried many of them but this cannot be used to completely discount the fact that some of them beat him and many heard the final bell

i don't see him knocking out the vitali of 2002-2004
