I mean it more figuratively but I'm sure Floyd got some of his foundation from SRR

 

I can think of a bunch of other fighters more reminiscent of void than robinson, but i was referring to how people give too much credit to robinson in regard to skills and not enough to other guys of the past. damn shame when people seem to think boxing skill began spontaneously in the 50's.

gotta say, Floyd is nothing even close to SRR's level. I'm not talking about H2H matchup I'm just talking overall ability. SRR was faster p4p, stronger, better combinations, more confidence in his punches, more knockout power, better single shots, 100 times more durable... SRR puts Floyd to shame in a comparison of overall ability.

A comparison between SRR and RJJ or Pac would be more fitting if you wanna compare SRR to this era's fighters. But even then they don't hold up.

 

In that era, Mayweather's style is more similar to guys like Moore, Charles, and Walcott than Robinson.

this thread has no credibility in the first place comparing Floyd to SRR. Think about it. Like I said RJJ or Pac are just better comparisons from the same era, doesn't mean they stack up.
