seeing as Madana's has been deleted. the article is over at the scene. personally i think Tibbs is doing the right thing.
I think he is making the right decision too. It's for Mitchells benefit that he's not thrown in too deep first fight back.
I can understand both sides of it. Love to of seen it but i think a tune up is decent idea for Mitchell. As mentioned in deleted thread i think he was left distraught after Katsidis fight. His own fault but still doesn't take away from the emotional beating he took that night. Murray's right thought these type fights have shelf life and he can't sit around waiting on Mitchell. I hope to see it...but it may not happen. Sad really..
would mitchell have waited for murray had he beaten katsidis i think not so why should john do the same, return the favour in kind leave mitchell at doestic level move on:good and it just confirms it more for me that mitchell as bottled it ass fell out :yep. either way though murray aint getting the wbc shot under warren it will be the usual we will go the wbo route if not settle for the wba :yep shame as well you can tell murray would prefer the wbc strap
Mitchell should have had a couple of knockover jobs by now and be ready to fight Murray by April. There's two ways to cope with defeat. 1. Look at yourself in the mirror and come back stronger. 2. Sit back, sulk and blame everyone apart from yourself. If Mitchell reads ESB still I suggest he listens to these...... ''The real professional never makes excuses, because he's no excuses to make, because he's given his all''
it could be his last chance to get on to the world stage time is ticking :yep it not exactly on his side
Exactly. Mitchell should have had at least one fight since Katsidis. Even if it was against some total unknown, he should have been back in the ring asap and building his confidence back up. Instead he's done **** all and now isn't really in a position/right frame of mind to take on Murray. Shame really, this would have been a good match up.
Ah, you're a Murray fan, so your not looking it from a neutral perspective. I'm with you now. My bad.
On the very next Frank Warren show. Six or eight rounds on the undercard against a taxi driver. KO1, KO2 whatever..... preferably not on TV. A couple of those would put his mind in a better place for bigger challenges that lay ahead. All this stuff about politics, complete bollocks. As it is he's just another Brit with a padded record, overrated power and a shaky chin who was badly exposed in his first decent test. Surely he wants to put the record straight?
Doesn't really matter who you are a fan of, the facts are there for all to see. For the record, if Mitchell boxed anywhere near as good as he did against Prescott I could see him winning but he has lost me as a fan if he does bottle it. IMO he likes to think of himself as a boxer but doesn't like the hard work that goes with it.... shame, because I think he is one of our most talented. If Tibbs is taking him out, it's not because he wouldn't be able to get in the right shape in time but because his head isn't right.. and if it isn't right now it will never be.
Spot on mate, couldn't be arsed training properly for his biggest fight (so he says I just reckon he wasn't good enough in the first place and he knew it hence why he acted like a rabbit in the headlights from his ringwalk onwards) and has just sat around sulking for a year when the best thing to do would have been getting straight on with it and building upto another shot at a similiar level Slag Hatton off as we may but he stepped up a true level in class with Floyd, got dispatched and within a year of that defeat he'd rebuilt with a win over Lazcano (ableit a narrow victory but it would have done him good) and very good win against Malinaggi IMO Mitchell will never again mix it on the realms of 'World Class'
