:rofl Williams would beat the **** outta Cotto man. Steward ain't gonna help him get inside without getting busted up. After about 5 rounds Williams would have Cotto running around the ring looking for a place to lay down. Williams is all wrong for Cotto always has been always will be, ain't **** changed. Cotto isn't some slick natural counter puncher, he's a guy who melts down under pressure he's made to order for Paul and he gets worked in the ring with Williams.

 

Cotto is a lot better boxer than Quintana, AND can most probably take a punch much better than Quintana... if he can box like Quintana did and avoid a brutal beginning by PW, then is a sure win 4 Cotto........... BTW, just like KC was doing.... If this fight ever happens, PW will never try to fight a puertorican ever again........ that is unless he's willing to man up and give Cintron a rematch!

Carlos Quintana is more of a natural counter puncher is more slick than Cotto could ever dream of. Cotto also lacks the stamina to box off his back foot for a full 12 rounds against Williams. He would eventually get walked down and brutalized for his troubles. Given Cotto's past track record no way can he stand up to Williams attack for a full 12 rounds no way. Williams feasts on guys like Cotto it's counter-puncher's that are Williams weakness not boxer puncher types like Cotto.:deal

 

If anyone here is done it would be Cotto who has taken two severe beatinga at the hands of a loaded glioved Margo and blitzed by Pac.:good The fight Williams was beaten in only lasted 2 rounds he didn't take a prolonged beating like Cotto has been accustomed to.

Being that Williams is a southpaw I reckon Cotto would be instructed to back him up and put the pressure on him. I think if Cotto fought on the backfoot, that he might hand the momentum to Williams, and given how consistent Williams is with his offense, you would have to worry about whether Cotto on the backfoot, could negotiate his way around the ring without getting hit, that his stamina wouldn't be exploited by Williams consistency. I think Williams would start out Boxing, trying to keep it long, being fairly cautious, but I envisage once he gets into his groove, that he would do what he does best, which is let his hands go. I also dont think he would have to worry as much about getting blitzed with a one punch KO(Martinez), as I tend to think some southpaws are not as intune defensively when fighting another soutpaw as they rarely have to face them, plus Cotto is not as big as Martinez, so probably does not hit as hard.

A positive for Cotto, might be, that from what I've seen, Williams has a tendency to get hit with left hooks, which is probably Cotto's best punch. Most tall fighters seem to be open to left hooks due to how big the target area they present is, their head stands higher in the air.

I think Cotto would have to back Williams up, be the aggressor, but I dont know if he has the capability to back Williams up. Williams is not the type to concede ground easy, and if you up the pace, he will go with you, he wont look for sanctuary by backing up, using his legs to try and slow the pace down.

I'd pick Williams, Cotto's stamina, Williams consistency would be key imo.

 

I would have taken Williams a year ago. Now I'm afraid Williams chin is cracked and he won't ever be the same.

No Cotto got stopped, TKO twice. Williams got concussed, eyes wide shut. There was some talk that his Chin got cracked by the time he fought Cintron.

 

I've always liked this fight for Cotto. You got a guy in Paul Williams who blocks punches with his chin. You can't let a guy like Cotto repeatedly hit you in the face. Williams would have his moments & get his, but I got Cotto. It's hard me to do be sold on a guy in Williams who doesn't even try to defend himself
