tommy hearns vs virgil hill

    how did you score the fight???....i had it 115-114 (hearns) in some of the round especially early on i cant believe how hill outjabbed hearns...ive never seen that before on the hearns career set i have

    if anyone has a score then put it on this thread and i will add them too my boxing blog covering fights from past and present.

    It´s been a while since I saw that. Hill had a very good jab and was quite fast, not on Hearns level as a fighter and while Hearns was past it, you can see it in this fight. Had it close to Hearns too. Saw it only after it happened though.

    when watching the fight it was plain to see hill was a 1 handed fighter (not due to injury) , his jab was excellent. it was tommys right hand and combinations that won him the fight.

    Hearns was a fantastic boxer, and this fight really shows that off.

    A great win.

    A very underrated and in some cases, forgotten performance by the Hitman. It was definitely a big jewel in his crown.

    yeah, and Tommy's experience really showed in this fight. He pored it on at the end of rounds and looked like a master against Hill, Hill looked out of his element vs. Tommy's quality. Just a little behind all the time.

    a very overlooked fight when you look how people overrated Duran's win over Davey Moore who had as many fights when Duran fought him and Hill had title defenses when Tommy fought him. And this was 30 pounds over Hearns first title winning effort 11 years before against Cuevas.

    had Tommy only fought like this during his whole career. He would have been less exciting but more successful.

    will do the hill vs maske fight later

    next fight from the past i will do is the pacquaio vs marquez 1 fight as its fairly recent and its easier to get scores from boxing sites and press.

    for the hill vs hearns fight im relying on fans because of the age of the fight , there isnt much on the net about the fight being scored.

    this weekend im hoping to cover the 2 british title fights on the hennessy bill and the montiel vs donaire fight from vegas

    Ah, that´s a tough one. Close fight. Make a reference to the second one which was better than I expected given their ages and that Maske didn´t compete for 10 years.
