Enzo was badly let down a few times by his trainers.

Especially in his last fight. Not just when he was KTFO and allowed to carry on, but during the mid-round breaks, should have been told to get moving..... he was toying with Frenkel at times too.

Hopefully he won't go again, or if he tries the board stops him from doing so.

Not a fighter myself but a personal fave moment of course was meeting Mike Tyson last year at the signing event he did. Shakin like an arthritic leaf but trying to play it cool coz I was with the Mrs and thought Mike would sense my fear!

Shook his hand and he asked my name for the autograph.

Me: "Its Joe... Joe Lewis actually, huge fan of your career."
Mike looked at me smiled and said "Your names Joe Lewis??(/Louis..i didnt tell him they're spelt different its Mike Tyson)"
Me: "Yea, obviously I'm proud of it"
MT: "You should be... its a bad ass name!"

Then he looked surprisingly sheepish and apologised for swearing! I said no its cool to which he repeated "Bad...Ass...Name" about 5 times. He was still saying it after I shook his hand and walked away. That was it, I can go to the pearly gates now the baddest man on the planet said my name's bad ass.

Bit lame I know but was wicked for me

I've got a couple of stories, but none of them particularly funny.

Bumped into Joe Calzaghe the night after Froch had fought Pascal. Asked him what he thought but he'd not watched it. Showed me how he thought Froch fought by swinging massive, slow, wide hooks. He told me that Froch wouldn't beat Kessler if they ever met.

Same night Enzo Calzaghe was taking the **** out of my old man cos he couldn't use his camera properly.

Same night again I was talking to Enzo Mac who had his hand bandaged. It was the night after he fought Ellis. We were joking about if Enzo's hand was bad, how the **** were Ellis's ribs

Got pissed with Enzo Mac after the Calzaghe weigh-in in Vegas.

Also bumped into Enzo Mac in the services, we were on our way back from Rugby in Leicester and he'd been to a dance competition with his daughter. We asked if we could have an autograph and when he went to take the paper we sais ''not your autograph ya big minded get, ya daughters'' he though it was funny as ****.

Top top man is Enzo. One of the nicest men I've ever met.

Oh another one is, sitting in the wrong seats for Calzaghe-Lacy after being on the **** for about 18 hours and taking the **** out of Clinton Woods' Mrs shoes. Another top guy.

After the Hatton v Lazcano fight, all the casuals starting streaming out of the arena. We spotted a gap in the security and made a dart to get ringside. We had heard that Tyson was there so were trying to get close to him, but to no avail. He'd already left.

So we just hung around for a bit at ringside. We got up on the ring apron while Ricky was getting his press pictures taken. As we were standing there we got chatting to a few people. One of which was Frankie Gavin. He heard our (scouse) accents and asked if we were "With Tony?". Obviously we said yes, fearing that we'd get thrown out if we didnt. Carried on chatting to Frankie for a bit and then he left. We worked out that "Tony" was "Tony Quigley Snr". I think he was in Mark Moran's corner that night. So, if anyone else asked while we were there, we were with Tony.

We circled the ring and spoke to Buncey, Richie Woodhall and a few others. Even got to ring the bell while no one was looking.

Then security started to clear everyone out. But they were ushering everyone down to one exit. That was - the ring walk entrance. The three of us looked at each other and thought we'd chance it. Try to get back stage. So we developed an elaborate rouse of trying to speak to everyone on the way out and stay in the middle of the pack as we had no security/press passes.

As we're walking, one of the lads spotted Micky Cantwell. He was a proper sound fella. Took time out to stand and have a photo with us. As we were chatting with him, Ian Darke walks past and Micky shouts "Ian, come and get a picture with some of Tony's lads". Ian stopped for a picture. We were inches, inches, from walking "backstage" when an eagle eyed security guard said "Can I see your pass lads?".

"We're with Tony mate" we innocently said.

"Good try lads, this way" and he made us climb the railing and leave with the plebs. So close.

Met Kessler in Thailand recently. He said 'Carl Froch is a gentleman' but I didn't bother him too much.

Obviously, that night in Nottingham was a biggie. The thread can be dragged up if anyone's that interested.

:good Yea mate was funny, kinda felt sorry for the guy behind me in the line coz Tyson was still saying it whilst signing his stuff! It's cool, like normal I had **** loads of stuff I wanted to ask but went blank so at least I got a decent story.

Nice thread and stories Grant, paddy etc.

Met Kevin Mitchell at York Hall, saw him doing the rounds with fans and the Mrs said I should go talk to him. Again, fearing lookin like a bell-end I said nah its cool im just chillin watchin the fight (think the act worked). The better half says she's poppin to the loo, a couple of minutes she calls my name behind me I turn round shes standing there with Kev! The crafty little b...

Anyway he was cool it was before the Prescott fight was made/moved up in weight and then he said a fight with Burns was about to be made. Strange how things work out in boxing. The same night I went up to have a chat with Del boy Chisora before the show had even started. all I got to was Hey Dereck hows it going and he said "Come on man im on any minute"... he was 2/3 last on!! Even stranger was he took my programme and signed it without me even asking! Fair do's guys a character

No mate was on Clev-Fry card, he was against a hopeless Georgian bum, couple of minutes chatting to a fan+slaggin off Tyson Fury 2 hours before wouldnt of hurt his chances. Kevin was there for Vinny, Joe Cole was there too was top quality signing stuff and taking pics all night.

Yea I was there for Del's low profile Tyson moment too was **** that night. Cheeky *******, imagine how big his head'd be if he stunned Wlad??? "Nah mate cant sign im alergic to pens"
