I agree with alot of posters on here. Hatton never had a granited chin. Also he never saw that left hook.

Th biggest misconception about Hattons career is that this was a close fight. When in reality Hatton fought with Flu and wond exery single round except one where he got wobbled, proving his chin was poor. However he did dominate Lazcano.

no the biggest misconception is that urango gave hatton a tough fight, didn't that fight finish something like 119-109 on all 3 cards?

i agree with that. hatton showed he still had his reflexes by completely dominating. yet his chin was all but gone at this point.

Hatton's aggression was a lot more effective with kostya, kostya was an old man and got tired plus he took a lot of hattons shots. Hatton's aggression wasnt effective at all against mayweather, with some help from the ref but also because mayweather was younger than kostya and better on the inside. Mayweather was fresh and hatton was exhausted

Don't agree his chin was granite, wasn't he dropped by that Irish boxer Magee during his early days?

mayweather teased him for half the fight and the opened up later

hatton saw read like a bull and ran into a perfect punch, he even hit the turtnbuckle like a wrestler

in large part the knockout was aided by hattons physical and mental exhaustion not to mention extreme frustration!

    anybody would have stayed down

His chin might not be that good from the start.

Hatton used his style effectively. When you smother your opponent, you don't give them the leverage to throw effective punches. Even if you get hit, the chances of getting KOed is not great. It has more to do with throwing arc than chin durability.

That was a flash knockdown, Hatton wasn't hurt at all and was straight up ready to go.
